Bruce - what Bible do you use?

Bless you, Butch, for your stance on God's truth.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 21 - 9 years ago
Jesus increases our faith - as we USE it. We all (even when we were sinners) had faith - that the car would start, that the coffee pot would work, that our shoe laces wouldn't break ...............; this is the 'grain' of faith Jesus says will grow into a TREE that the birds can roost in - IF we will use it; faith as a grain of a mustard seed.

The 'oil' is the symbolic of the Holy Ghost: being prayed up in the spirit everyday - and that is not referring to Jesus' 'example' prayer in Matt. - "Our Father which art in Heaven ..... "; repeating this everyday as one's 'prayer life' is tatamount to saying the rosary. We are to 'converse' with Him Just as we'd talk to our earthly fathers about our needs and/or just how much we love Him.

To Bruce, one month ago; I didn't say 'centurions' ..........; I'm not upset by your 'correction', I just know what I said. And come to that - 'centurions, priests, and Pharisees - have NOTHING to do with - salvation. So a mistaken word in such a place isn't hurting anybody. And - they can simply read it for themselves - which they ought to do anyway - Acts 17:11.

This should give us great hope in how God is always there for us, to lead and protect us, and to remember the shadow of death is only a shadow not to be feared by those of us who have Jesus Christ.

It is very great and righteous how David took care of Bathsheba after all the evil that he had done to her and her husband. What David had done, no doubt made him feel horrible about himself for ever after, but it did not cause him to despair of God's love and abilities. There are innumerable mysteries of God's great mercies toward all of us, and about His willingness to grant us a changed life!

cont. - one is to help children with God's word, not put them down for it. Hopefully this person has apologized to her and repented to God - ... "for better it were for that man that a millstone ..... "

I saw on the comments 'backlog' from 2013 a comment from a 12 yr. old girl, quote - "I understand this verse more clearly than adults and I'm 12." unquote. Then a 'dart' tossed at her from an (adult?) quote - " ... can you explain how you understand (this verse?). I am sure we can all learn ... from a 12 yr. old ...", unquote.
I thought of Matt. 12:14 and all the 'Pharisee' verses. cont.

A wretch, 6-27-16 - a person looking for salvation/deliverance can find it in God's word - Acts 2:37-38. God is LOVE, this is HIS plan of salvation, it's in HIS Word, the Bible. Because He loves us so much more than even our parents can, He has provided ALL things we need to overcome. Without FAITH it is impossible to please Him. Faith is simply - believing and then following thru with Acts 2:38.

Verse 8 mentions that the highway is a way of holiness and not the way to holiness so one must be holy in order to travel on this highway.
  • Irene123 on Galatians 5 - 9 years ago
    V. 13 - " ..... only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh; ..... "; the 'flesh' also includes our minds and mouths - "set a watch before my mouth and a door on my lips" - Proverbs. Sorry, I don't know the number reference, but it's easy to look up.

To Les 1-31-'17 -- Quote: "I'm just guessing here ... " unquote; I'd be glad to answer your question if I knew you were addressing me ..... ?
  • BSP on Galatians 5 - 9 years ago
We don't want to use our freedom to satisfy our fleshly desires. We should look for ways to help and encourage others.

Verse 7 is a good reminder that we came into this world with nothing and we leave this world with nothing. Meditating on this verse should help us to have the right view of material things.

Even though the tongue is such a small member of the human body, we can not tame it. We are all imperfect and so we will all say imperfect things. We must work hard to try and control our tongue the best we can.
  • BSP on Psalms 77 - 9 years ago
In verse 12 the psalmist mentioned meditating on all of Jehovah God's works or doing. If we do the same this can fill us with awe and give us strength.

  • Stephende on Galatians 3 - 9 years ago
Many, many Christians fall into the trap from Pauls letters that being "saved" is easy as turning on a light switch, that all you need is faith to earn the favor if God, and what they do and think and feel in this world in inconsequential. In truth many preachers in our time fain righteousness while walking in sin.
  • Brianna on Galatians 5 - 9 years ago
Vs. 19-21 Let us not be fooled. Jehovah God plainly states what practices of sin will not allow us to inherit his Kingdom. There is no such thing as "sinning saints". Some religious leaders may make these practices seem okay. At the end of the day God is our Judge, and he is very clear on what he expects from his servants.
  • Brianna on Psalms 84 - 9 years ago
Vs. 11,12 really touches me. Jehovah God is a source of protection! He also rewards us for our faith. I love how it says that God will not withhold anything good for those who walk in integrity. Sometimes it is not always easy to serve God. However, I gain much more from obeying God than temporary enjoyment of sin.
  • Pastor Akwolu Godwin on Genesis 12 - 9 years ago
We should must follow God that He will Direct Guide and Protect us because He Said His Plan Toward us is of Good and not of evil to Give us A Good Expected End
  • A disciple on Mark 6 - 9 years ago
"..and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things?.." I think that people too easily excuse each other's faults and evil ways. We could just say about them, "Familiarity breeds contempt;" and let them go for their disbelief: but is that really the way God looks at them? If God raises up His servants from among any people; it is not for them to despise them.

  • Jason Craig on Revelation 4 - 9 years ago
I used to think for years that we the church would have to go through some trials and tribulations before being taken up in the Rapture which in Mathew 24 and vs36 says watch ye therefore, and pray always that ye are accounted worthy, so that ye may escape all things to come to pass Not a few things Not somethings, but ALLTHINGS May we ALL BE prepared when he calls, as I pray to see u all in HEAVEN
