  • Irene123 on Romans 1 - 9 years ago
Romans wasn't the beginning of the church, nor does it contain any plan for initial salvation. Romans was a letter to the already established church (sinners already saved by Acts 2:38); it was to MAINLY the Jewish Christians that were having 2nd thoughts about laving the now defunct O.T. law of blood sacrifices and it's accouterments, the law Jesus fulfilled in His sacrifice.

Matthew Henry commentary - Acts ch. 2; vs. 37-41; " ..... avow belief in Jesus ..... by being baptized in His name. vs. 42-47; "in these vs. we have the history of the truly primitive church; of the first days of it." unquote. This commentary is found at the end of Acts ch. 2, 'Commentary for Acts 2 click here'.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
The 4 gospels laid the foundation for the beginning of Jesus' church. The church began in Acts Ch. 2 with the first message by Peter, then the question, " ..... men and brethren, what shall we do?" Peter's answer, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift if the Holy Ghost."
    This is salvation.

Lord you have protected me since the womb. My mothers friends were trying to convince her to have an abortion when she was pregnant with me. You have saved my life thru countless encounters with death. You have kept me safe in the gang infested streets of San Bernardino for 32 years!!!!! When the devil said I WILL DESTROY him YOU AND YOUR ANGELS OF MERCY SAID OTHERWISE. Im FOREVER IN DEBT WITH YOU
  • Lilian on John 9 - 9 years ago
Jesus is the Light of the World Jesus has to perform miracles coz there's no Jews that believes in him. The blind man was healed because of his obedience to wash his eyes in Siloam. Our obedience to God's words are more important than sacrifice. Thanks to the blood of Jesus. Lets worship him and praise him only for he is worthy Amen
  • Sandie on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
This chapter was read the night before my husband and 3 other men went over a mountain in a dully being towed by a tow truck. The Lord had an angel stop the truck half way down the mountain by a 4 inch round tree. Impossible with man; possible with God. There could have been 4 funerals that day, but praise God, there was only rejoicing and thanksgiving. He is a rescuer.

    Isaiah 12:2

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

    "JEHOVAH"

Let us adore Jehovah the creator of the universe and life, and who promises eternal life in this land converted into a paradise

123:V:22-26? We are all drawing closer to the grave, young or old. Most are on that wide road. Few find it even harder to find the Narrow Road. We who are redeemed by The Blood of The Lamb, are the only Light the world will see,if they don't see Christ in us???Called: John 6:44,forgiving : 1John1:9,Baptized with fire: Matthew 3:11,Changed: 2Corinthians 5:17, you "will" know, "impossible" not to know!
  • Bro. Daniel FC on Galatians 5 - 9 years ago
To Irene 123: Jn 15:13 is a beautiful text but has nothing to do with our "subject". Not that I need it, but for your Christian growth and self esteem: An "I am sorry" would have been more... biblical.
    No hard feelings,
    Bro. Daniel
  • Irene123 on Judges 11 - 9 years ago
"Come now, let us REASON together ..... "; why anyone would even WANT to believe God allowed human sacrifice - when He came (His spirit, for God IS spirit) as the body of Jesus to SAVE us from death - is beyond me. Jesus was God in human flesh.
  • Irene123 on Judges 11 - 9 years ago
Jud. 11:34-40; Matt. Henry commentary - "It is hardtop say what Japheth did ... but human sacrifice is abomination to God. It is th'ot she remained a virgin and apart from her fam.

1 Kgs. 11:1-10; God left and cursed Solomon for his human sacrifice to Molech, Chemosh. Solomon started out good, but ended badly. God saved Isaac; it was a test of Abraham's faith.
  • Bruce on Galatians 3 - 9 years ago

  • Alfred on Acts 28 - 9 years ago
To Irene: I think its because the book of Acts, is not a gospel. It is more of a record of th first church. The gospels were written, for people to come to faith.

  • Nancy on Judges 11 - 9 years ago
The scripture about Japheth'vow and the following scripture about his daughter brought quite a bit of discussion in our Bible study group. The majority of them use a KJV, and it is very ambiguous. The NIV clearly stated his daughter went up into the hills with her friends to grieve that she would never have children or a family. Also, Zapheth did as he vowed. To me that means she was killed.

  • Roy on Genesis 4 - 9 years ago
Adam and Eve were told to be fruitful and to multiply upon the earth by our Lord. At this time it was brothers and sisters who came together to procreate. Today you would get birth defects because of our sinful nature which is also why we don't live as long. Cain had a mark set upon him by God and he was sent into the land of Nod, which is were he found his mate. (Sister)
  • Tareka on Genesis 13 - 9 years ago
I thought it was interesting to read how God told Abraham: "For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever." He told him this AFTER being separated from Lot. It reminds me of things God wants to do in our lives but can only do after being separated from people, places
  • John on Romans 16 - 9 years ago
Look at verses 17,18.Every church has them,Paul is saying watch out for them.
  • Irene123 on Acts 9 - 9 years ago
The disciples that were there, that sent for Peter - why could they not have prayed for her ? Jesus said, " ..... greater works than these shall ye do ..... ". Being fairly new in their walk I suppose they hadn't the faith as yet ..... ?
  • Irene123 on Acts 9 - 9 years ago

  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 9 years ago
(42-45) The Times of the Gentiles, and of their form of Dominion over the earth, is coming to its completion and demise: the things that have so deeply held the minds and souls of men in darkness and bondage and hostile opposition to the Lord; are about to be taken away for ever, by the Coming of our Lord and Saviour. It is important that we know the difference between His Spirit and the world's.
  • Irene123 on John 15 - 9 years ago
V.13 - I've always read this verse as literal, and it's always 'bothered' me - because I know only God could and did that. Just now as I read it the spiritual aspect dawned on me: we lay down our WORLDLY lives and turn to God in repentance so we are in a place with God to pray for or friends. Now that makes sense. "Come now, let us REASON together ..... "
