  • Seven Trumpets on Mark 3 - 9 years ago
(v 1-6) Jesus came not to send peace on the earth, but to cause division! The presence of the Good and the Holy One, shows the evil and hatred and ugliness in wicked men; and it does not cause them to love Jesus for it! So it is for the Saints of Jesus; His Spirit in us shines light upon the darkness, and there is made a division; a division made by God. Jesus sets apart His People for a sign.
  • Seven Trumpets on Genesis 32 - 9 years ago
God said, Jacob have I loved, and I hated Esau. People don't like to hear, and don't want to believe, that there are certain kinds of men, that God hates. Esau had no heart nor need for the holy things of his fathers Isaac and Abraham; but took Canaanite wives. In contrast; God is with Jacob all his days, and through all his troubles; promising to never leave him, till He does all He has promised.

Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, here Am I, Send me! He said, Go and tell his people: Be even hearing, but never understanding be ever seeing, but never perceiving." MY MY MY!!! NOT MANY ARE WILLING TO GO FOR THE LORD, WHO CALLED US OUT OF DARKNESS TO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT CAUSE OF THE FEAR OF FAILURE AND PEOPLE! REMEMBER:

By any stretch of the imagination this is one of the greatest chapters in the bible. It was a battle between God and the enemy and God prevailed teaching man we can trust him when the situations seems totally lost and hope less. Good encouragement when we have our backs to the wall.

Verse 23 shows that no matter how powerful a high official is or corrupt a judge is, when it comes to Jehovah God fulfilling his promises and accomplishing his will, He regards them as insignificant. They can only do what God allows them to do.

Still, the most compelling example of baptism for salvation is found in Acts 8,29-39. Phillip was doing exactly as Jesus had said. V 35 says he "taught him Jesus". But, what words was Phillip using? Of course, that Jesus had came and died on the cruel cross of Calvary. But, what else? In the very next verse we see the result of being "taught Jesus". Phillip taught him that he had to be baptized.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Jesus is our sabbath rest. For a Christian every day is a day of worship. Legalism doesn't help further the gospel. Colossians 2v16.
  • Jamie on Exodus 25 - 9 years ago
Did you mean old testament? Jesus is the fulfillment of the O/T. Jesus himself taught much about the O/T. Also the book of Hebrews. When reading the O/T always keep christ in mind.

  • Irene123 on Psalms 53 - 9 years ago
But still, in OUR age of Grace - we are to pray for the 'fools'; He came not to condemn the world, but to save it - one individual at a time; not the whole unrepentant world. There are actually people that believe the world was saved when Jesus was crucified - and there is nothing we need to do - except 'kick back' and enjoy our lives. Why then, would He have sacrificed Himself ..... ?

    V. 2 - For the Lord most high is terrible - means He is GLORIOUS, MAJESTIC, ALL-POWERFUL, MERCIFUL, GRACIOUS, MIGHTY GOD, .................; but - He's not macho nor top dog or any non biblical terms; the Bible does more than enough justice to Him. Let's not try to bring Him down to our level; let's let HIM raise us to His level - Acts 2:37-38
