Vs. 14 - But I trust in you, O Jehovah. I declare: You are my God. - NWT Jehovah, the name of the sovereign of the universe. Some translations omit the Divine name. Yet, as we can see, when that name is used, it clearly identifies the God of the Bible and gives much more meaning to the scriptures.

Verse 13 shows Paul was especially concerned about the parchments. He wanted to read God's Word and placed a high value on it.
  • Robin Mickens on Exodus 29 - 9 years ago
This makes it so clear as to why clergy wear robes in the pulpit to this day. It's amazing how God was so clear to Moses in his instructions in how the robes and such should be made and who should make them. Then Moses translated all that information to the letter. Additionally, I'm not a big meat eater. So every time I read Exodus I'm less bothered by that.

    Verse 5
It will be a suffocating experience for a true Christian to be cut off from the church communion from all the visible means of grace from God's influence from His covering and to be handed over back to the world to be under the power of Satan again. I pray we'll not sin deliberately however if we did we would quickly turn to Jesus and repent and He is faithful to forgive us all our sins.
  • BSP on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
Verse 6 shows that Timothy needed to be nourished to fully accomplish his ministry. We need to make sure we are nourished by daily Bible reading so that we can preach God's Word to others.
  • Brianna on Psalms 31 - 9 years ago
Vs. 6 NWT -I hate those who are devoted to worthless, vain idols, But as for me, I trust in Jehovah. Idol worship has crept into Christianity. Remember, the worship of idols is something God hates. Even the cross is an idol. If you pray, bow down to, or revere it, it is an idol. All Praise goes directly to God.
  • Andres Velasquez on Exodus 33 - 9 years ago
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Brianna on 2 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
Vs. 4 Our God has supplied us comfort through the pages of the Bible. Many of the persons in the Bible serve as an example to us. As we read their examples and overcome trials we can be a source of encouragement to others. May we heed the counsel Matt. 28:19,20 and share the good news.
  • Brianna on Proverbs 20 - 9 years ago
Vs. 1 I believe Carolyn hit it on the head. Good point about the first miracle Jesus performed. When in moderation, wine is an enjoyment. However, as with anything, our loving father warns us about over-indulging.

  • A disciple on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
There is a spiritual war going on in this world, and a sifting of our souls; to prepare us for meeting our Maker in the Day of Eternity. The children of the darkness persecute the children of light, because they hate the light; and the devil is raging to devour all of us before he goes to his doom. The Lord is with us, and will not leave us in their hands, nor condemn us when we are judged.
  • A disciple on Genesis 37 - 9 years ago
I wonder that so many are so hard hearted at the sufferings of the righteous, at the hands of wicked men! The world is full of these envious murderers without a conscience toward God or their own fellow-men; and yet most "so-called" Christians can only ask questions about Joseph's motives??? Ever since Cain and Abel, the children of the devil have persecuted the Saints, to hide their own sins.
  • Jason Davis on Proverbs 4 - 9 years ago
Follow Gods word and get instruction and wisdom how to fight battles in our lives daily the battle is not our it's the Lord. Let go in let God and let Jesus take the wheel.

  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, ...............yet knowing how way leads to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged ...... and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. Acts 2:37-38

I Pray To Be That !
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
Cont. - We should be content to express our faith in the same words as our first century apostles. Constantine and the holy Roman empire in 325 a.d. 'obscured' the word of God - for power and money.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 9 years ago
The writers of the New Testament accepted without question the deity of Jesus Christ, and they never speculated about a plurality of persons in God. All speculation occurred in the post biblical era, relying on formulas and words not in scripture. Obfuscation (to obscure something, make it 'fuzzy', confusing) usually results from human attempts to go beyond what scripture has proclaimed. cont.

I say the prayer Psalm 91 every single day. I am lost without it. My day can't start and doesn't run smoothly without it. Amen, Amen!

  • Irene123 on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
2 Pet. 2:11; Jude v.9; We, as mere humans, are not to take matters into our own hands, but give 'situations' over to the Lord. Even the angels knew better than to usurp God's power. Vengence is mine .....
  • Sandy on Exodus 22 - 9 years ago
I love you god: This is a book of the Old Testament. Before Jesus was sacrificed for our sins. We Now accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Living Christ-like.

  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God, Micah 6:8.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man, Eccl. 12:13. If ye love me, keep my commandments, Jn.14:15.

I remembered Mic., Jn by heart, cont.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
Jehovah ( Hebrew language) translates to Jesus (Greek language); Jesus id God of the Old Testament; God is ONE - Deut. 6:4 - the 'shema'.
  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 8 - 9 years ago
God is one, not three. God is the Father in creation, God is Jesus in Salvation, God is the Holy Ghost (spirit), God's name is Jesus. His name shall be called Emmanuel (God with us); His name shall be called Jesus (Jehovah, the Lord our Savior). Matt. 28:19, "... baptizing them in the NAME of ... "; Acts 2:37-38 -- " ... be baptized everyone of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ ... "
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
To Bruce again - but you had to have been reading v.1 off of here; the word 'were' isn't in verse 1
