Doesnt verse 13 prove that there is no way to lose salvation if you believed in Jesus atonement for our sin? No matter how great the sin, even if you believed then not believed later that the Holy Spirit is sealed up within you until the end? Or am I understanding this wrong?

Ch.6:18 by two immutable promises..Gen: 22:17 to Abraham 1 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; 2. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; The oath was to Jesus Christ Ps.110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order Melchizedek

Bet, because Melchizedek is a type of Christ comparing the Levitical law or mt. Sinai law which was given by God to Moses in contrast to the N.Testament law grace and truth by Christ Jo:1:17 Henry's commentary of this chapter indicate he was a priest and a king just like Jesus. He had no parents...mostly referring to no documentation of his human history. I don't see enough to say Christophany.

  • A disciple on Genesis 28 - 8 years ago
Frankie (cont.); God rules over the matters and times of this world and He directs the good and the evil according to His own will, to bring men to repentance and the knowledge of the truth. We were not made and born into the world to live for self without God. This world as it is right now is not God's final plan for man; but He waits for the completion of the times to finish our salvation.

  • A disciple on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Charles (cont.); God teaches man knowledge and gives him understanding and power to do all the things he does. "Without me you can do nothing." John 15:5 All that men have made with the world, they made by the knowledge and power of God. Dividing the day into 24 hours isn't a myth, any more than the passing of the days and the seasons, and the years and the times. Everything God does is perfect.
  • A disciple on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Charles; God made man in His image and likeness, and charged him with the overseership of the earth and all things in it, to have the mastery over it and subdue it and work it to fruitfulness and productivity for good and for God's glory. Until we repent of our debating and questioning and disagreement with God's Spirit, doubtful thoughts will darken and mislead men to stand in opposition to Him.

Verse 24~The disciples had just celebrated the Passover and yet they were arguing over who was the greatest. It takes time for people to get rid of improper traits and habits.
  • A disciple on Matthew 5 - 8 years ago
Olivia; the "Theme" is the Glad Tidings which Jesus preached and taught everywhere for all men to believe and obey that we might be saved. Matthew 5 is the beginning and foundation of His expounding these things to His disciples: that is, how to practically perform what God commands us, in all our course in life, both toward God and toward one another. Our Father desires truth on the inward parts.
  • A disciple on John 15 - 8 years ago
"These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." As the Lord told Peter to "Put up your sword into its place;" we are not to join causes to go to war with those.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 14 - 8 years ago
"He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him." Jesus came into this world to save us, the children of God, from our sins and give us eternal life. We are all made in the image of God and commanded to love and honor one another in reverence of God's image and likeness. All who are of the truth will keep integrity to love God and his neighbor.

Emanuel. No one can pluck you out of His hand is correct, but notice, that it does not say that you cannot walk away, and that is the problem. Many truly born again people do walk away. The parable of the lost sheep is one good example. In one it says He finds it, and the other one He says, "if" He finds it, He will bring it back. Don' conclude anything without looking at all verses on subject.
  • Ivan on Hebrews 6 - 8 years ago
Emanuel. I also search and dig in. There are over 52 scriptures in the Bible that proof without the shadow of a doubt that a true believer can loose their salvation. The problem is not that God will take it away, but that we can walk away because we have choice. Warnings like, endure to the end, if you continue, if you faint not. You cannot continue something you never started. There are many more
