How great would it be for people of the world today to learn from David - not to repay evil with evil. We are reminded in 1 Peter 3: 9: "Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing"

Question: 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it > "Replenish" the earth. I always thought at God created us for the first time.. but this implies that the earth is being "replenished".
  • Melvin on Psalms 83 - 9 years ago
God own word in this chapter of the Bible tells us what his proper name is,"Jehovah", so who is the one who has a problem with that, those who have a problem with it should pay closer attention to what He says in verses 16 and 17 of chapter 83......

This believers seem to have commited themseves to a point of monitoring themselves through their conscience, to a point whereby nobody will have to come behind them ensuring that what was promised is performed.
The commitment is simply binding on the individual and the LORD, so that the LORD is the one who is to monitor if what was promised is performed.
They meant, LORD, watch and see us fullfill

Jim, where does this say in the bible, All who are Christ's when they die their spirits all go to glory until the Resurrection and the dead lifeless body
rests in the ground without the soul in it and we will be given a new body. We also will be able to recognize one another from the old body.

(10)But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Knowing where we are from, why we are here, where we are going is important. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Our Redeemer (repossesses) our past John 17:5

  • Lu2677 on Ezekiel 31 - 9 years ago
Word,I have given more thought to your comment about the trees. John 3:8 "For the devil sinneth from the beginning"You said Satan IS the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When does Satan do good? In the garden; if Eve did NOT eat (as you claim) fruit of the tree of knowlege good and evil, of which God told her not to do.What was the deception that Eve succumbed to that caused our sinful state?

Irene (cont.) and when Solomon had that dream when God appeared to him, and told him to ask whatever he wanted; what was in his heart was to be like his father David in his ability to care for Israel. If he had secret pride, as you say, how did God not see it afar off, and confront him with that evil in his heart? you are mistaken about that! God saw what was in his heart, and was pleased to give!
  • A disciple on 1 Kings 3 - 9 years ago
Hi Irene; the way I read about David, the Lord's testimony of him was for ever after, that David walked with God with a perfect heart all his days, (except in the matter of Bathsheba), and that he was a man after God's own heart. He very much did often ask (read the Psalms!) for wisdom and guidance. Solomon was as a child in his own eyes, when he was called by God to step into David's shoes . . .
  • A disciple on Ecclesiastes 12 - 9 years ago
In this wonderful Book called, The Preacher, is laid out very many aspects of this present existence, and how they are used knowingly or unknowingly to distract man who is made in the image of God from seeking out the eternal meaning of his having been created thus and in many cases, worse, uses them falsely to deny the very God and Saviour, who he is supposed to replicate in character, in conduct, in faith, hope and love in holiness and the Spirit of Truth. The powerful conclusion "of the whole matter," is what we must hear and receive and learn from Jesus to do, with all our hearts, and without hypocrisy. For if after all our lifetime is spent, and we have only our own basket of potatoes and carrots, but no honest accounting of our souls in light of Christ being sent to redeem us then will we have worked for nothing, and all our love, and hate, and envy, and toil, will be turned to smoke and ashes, and remembered no more we ourselves having never stood in the truth, will have no place, and never be fit for the presence of God in eternity. But the Word is written to us as to children, so that we may do them and be blessed. This is the will of God for all men that we might be saved, all thanks and glory and praise to our wonderful Father God, and the Son of God our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Word,I posted a reply to your comment on chapter 2; page. Also, Adam "knew" (had intercourse with) Eve and she gave birth to Cain their first child after God removed them from the garden in Chapter 4. Because of these events of Eve's deception (the fall of man) all are born under sin.The concept of "Satan had Cain" is not in scripture. Where may I ask do you get your ideas? Books/pastor/friends?
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 2 - 9 years ago
Word, story of creation is not a fable or parable.Gen2:8,9,15,16,17.Gen3:1-7=Satan deceived Eve.The two trees are the tree of Life, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. After she ate she had knowledge of good and evil. When she and Adam confessed,God cursed them both, removed them, and guarded the garden so they would not have access to the tree of Life. Cain was Adam and Eve's son.

  • A disciple on Proverbs 1 - 9 years ago
Dear Irene; the Lord Jesus loves you, and doesn't hold any hard feelings about the past; but He said that He wouldn't ever mention those things to us again, after we've turned from them and now do right. We are in very dreadful times, and we all have family members who are out there, still in their sins and in grave danger. We bring them to the Lord in our prayers and stay true friends regardless.
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Word; I think you're trying to spirtualize too much into the things you read. Wait on the LORD for the knowledge and understanding; which He liberally gives to all who seek Him for it; "precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little." I understand and respect your zeal for knowledge, but until you're able to bear it, you have to wait!
  • A disciple on 1 Samuel 23 - 9 years ago
Peter; I love the story of David and Jonathan; and I have to believe that Jonathan will absolutely be next to David when Jesus comes, and David is made king of Israel for ever. This is something that really teaches us about God's long plans for eternity; and gives us such happiness to know that for all our loved ones, and those who had their torment in this life, Jesus is the Saviour of the world.

Irene; good morning! Psalm 68:21 "But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses." In that magnificent Psalm Song of David, is prophesied the great Day of the LORD the KING; when God arises, and them that hate Him flee before Him. In it also is described the mysteries of the gifts of the Spirit that Jesus gave to us from on high.
  • Joycelyn Mack on Isaiah 47 - 9 years ago
I believed even though God was wrath with Israel, he put them in the hands of the Chaldean because he saw good in them in spite of; but they became jealous of Israel and began to treat them unkind in very harsh ways as their wicked increased This treatment displeased the Lord as a result he send a warning to Babylonians of his intentions which result from their behaviors against him. He is God

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; thats why people separated of God make a high deep in the worst of their humanity, that why sometimes we listen about horrible news.

Psalms 25:8-15. Amen. Verse 14; "The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant." (Many blessings come to those who fear him) He is full of mercy.
