"...but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." This is may seem hard to accept, since so much of the way we were raised to think; how that our character and behaviors have consequences; thereby many think because they are not as bad as others, that they don't deserve it. But they leave out the whole truth about whether at all they are reconciled to God by repentance, and so truly safe.

As many times as we've read these chapters; every time is a new and powerful realization of just how great and mighty were these signs! Try to imagine seeing these plagues in real! They are terrifying! Yet because of the way some choose to respond, and "refuse to humble thyself before Me (God);" God hardens their hearts to work out their own foolishness and perversion, unto their destruction.

The Bible says that God never condemns in His dealings with us. He is never a bully. He doesn't push us around like our enemy, the Devil. When God talks to us about sin or faults, it's always according to the law of the Spirit of life. Read( Rom 8:1,2) also If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
    1 John 1:9 KJV

the "eye of a needle' PPL entered the main gate during daytime. If they came after daylight, there was a small gate that ppl had to come in by because of the danger of attack. They had to unload the camel and have the camel crawl into the city. God used this analagy to show one had to "unload there burdens" before they can enter Heaven.

It is impossible for anyone to be born again at the cross, for the born again plan of salvation was not yet completed. Jesus had not yet died, buried and raised again. God has always had a plan of salvation for each period of time of man's existence. In Noah's day the plan of salvation was to get in the ark. Moses'day was the Law,by faith. In our day, Jesus said, you must be born again. Acts2:38!!
  • Stephende on Matthew 14 - 9 years ago
It raises the question between doubt and faith. But do you have faith in God, whom you haven't seen? You have faith in Jesus, who hasn't been seen for 2017 years! Jesus was sent by God. Listen, his doctrine wasn't his own but the Father who sent him. That is why God granted him Power to overcome sin. To overcome gravity. To overcome fear and doubt. Jesus was always praying to God

  • Irene123 on Psalms 122 - 9 years ago
Ps. 122:1 - The sun. service today was - different; the Lord Jesus took control of it. Pas. had a message ready, but after about 5 min., before he could even begin 'preaching' - Jesus took the service right out of his hands. He just began calling people to the altar - sinners and saints alike, we all went forward, praying, weeping, hands raised in surrender. This went on for an hour. Beautiful.

Irene, continuing; John 14:15-17, the Lord tells us how love and obedience and having the Holy Ghost in us, all go together. In this part He also shows how the Spirit of Truth being in us, marks us as made distinctly separate from the world, which is set on not knowing the Lord Jesus and His Holy Spirit. In John 16:7-14, Jesus teaches us the purpose for giving us the Spirit; to convict the world!
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 9 years ago
Irene, I believe I have the Holy Spirit because I asked, and I obey Jesus; because that's what the Apostles taught in the Scriptures. It was part of Jesus' complete work in saving us from our sins, and reconciling us to God, that He might send the "Promise of the Father" to His Elect that are in the world. I see it evidenced very much in my life, and in that He gives me understanding of the Word.

Jedonai, You dare to say that we aren't able to keep God's commands? What God commands us to do; to love Him with all our being, and our neighbor as our selves; love out of a pure heart and a good conscience, and faith without hypocrisy; to not commit murder, adultery, lying, stealing, or coveting anything that is our neighbor's, and honoring our parents; Jesus said, "This do, and you shall live."

  • Joe rog on Luke 11 - 9 years ago
Luke's version of the Lord's Prayer is great, it shows clearly that it is not finances only that should be forgiven like some believe from the Matthew version which uses debts. Luke says sins. And I know that Jesus explains the Matthew version and uses the term trespasses. So from these two versions of the Lord's Prayer we should forgive debts trespasses and sins. Glory to God and glory to Jesus.

The seventh-day Saturday Sabbath was the day after the crucifixion, and we know this because the women rested that day according to the fourth commandment of God. Therefore, the crucifixion had to have occurred on a Friday.
  • SARAH on Luke 23 - 9 years ago
Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
The women viewed the sepulchre and the body of Jesus on the preparation day (Friday evening before sunset)

  • A disciple - 9 years ago
Integrity is what keeps us holding strong and true through the fiery trials and temptations. We set in order and give account before the Lord because we are of the truth, and walk in a good conscience toward God and men. God gave us commandments to be holy, BECAUSE HE IS HOLY, and "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" Jesus has broken the power of sin, and given us the grace we need!
