  • Marshal on Revelation 21 - 9 years ago
One of my favorite passages is Revelation 21:7. For myself, as saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, this is a three-fold promise: 1) I will inherit all things. 2) God will be my God. 3) I will be God's son.

This is for eternity. What an amazing thought. If it were able, even time itself would not be able to keep up with God's love to us.

Tit. 2:11-12 were the scriptures given us to memorize for this last weeks Sun.Bible study. I completely forgot about them until - Sat. night. I 'sorta' got them memorized, but then come class time today our teacher says, "Forget that verse for today; save it for next week". Thank-you Jesus!
  • Irene123 on Hebrews 12 - 9 years ago
    V. 14 - 'peace' has already been noted; "and holiness, without which, no man shall see the Lord." The Lord Jesus is ALL PURE holiness - the angels are constantly around His throne crying - "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY". After we are saved we strive to live a holy life, but we fall short - sometimes not knowing this; this is why we are to ask His forgiveness everyday. His Love covers a multitude of sins.
  • R.J. on Romans 10 - 9 years ago
No they can not be saved. Only people that are at an unaccountable age can be saved with out asking Jesus to forgive them of the sins and to ask him to be there savior.

All the epistles, after Acts, were written to already established churches. Usually the phrase, "to the saints ..... " will be in them or a similar worded phrase. A sinner is not a saint. The epistles were written for sinners to read so as to know what is expected of them if they choose to follow Jesus. Jesus lets you count the cost of following Him.
  • Irene123 on Romans 10 - 9 years ago
Bud - Rom. 10:8-9 (Rom.1:7 "called to be saints"). The church in Rome was already established; Paul wasn't writing to sinners. Jesus' church was established in Acts ch. 2 ( Acts 2:37-38). The 'calling' and 'believing' were already done for these saints in Acts 2:38. Paul was just reminding them of this because he knew some were weak in their N.T. belief and were thinking about the O.T. law they had

  • Williedean on Ecclesiastes 4 - 9 years ago
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.

For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow, but woe to him that is alone when he falleth for he hath not another to help him up.

Again, if two lie together, then they have heat, but how can one be warm alone?
  • Joy Olubunmi Oluwaseyi on 1 Kings 13 - 9 years ago
Now let us say God told you to go to a foreign country but you drank the king's wine and ate the king's food that means you have forgotten what God told you do so that is why we must watch out for the devil's purpose for our life.
1st Corinthians 10 vs 12 says Let he who thinks he stands take heed lest he falls. This is the reasons why we should take heed of the devil's purpose. Thank you.
  • I AM on Matthew 22 - 9 years ago
The same deceivers who, in the sight of men, question the existence of the Christ now: they are of those who crucified the Christ then: and are the same devils who are grossly deceived in believing they will crucify the risen Christ yet again. What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

To Wayne - From where did you get idea I was 'against' the father, son and H. G.?
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
To Wayne: I read Jn. 7:39; what was I s'posed to get out of it?
  • Dewey J on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Irene123, that is incorrect. The day of Pentecost was celebrated long before that day by the Jewish nation. Ex.23:16 as "The feast of harvest". Ex.34:22 as "The festival of weeks" and lev.15, Deu. 16 same day by other names in a few other places in the OT from the Exodus from Egypt. You are correct that the first time the day is called Pentecost is Ac. 1 Therefore, I believe the rest is correct.

  • A disciple on Mark 9 - 9 years ago
"And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Unbelief is a moral error; not a weakness! Where in the whole Bible did you ever read, that God sympathized with, or "understood" their stubbornness and disobedience? Feeling pain, and seeing and experiencing apparent contradictions of evil; does not change the truth of the LORD.

As far as "who is finally going to be saved?" there are some fundamental things we SHOULD know from the Scriptures. First; Jesus is the Saviour of the world: and He came NOT to destroy men's lives, but to save them! It is NOT the Father's will that ANY should perish. Also; if the Elect Spirit led Christian today shall Reign with Christ; over whom shall we reign; if not the "Nations of the saved!"
  • Trinity Cline on Psalms 126 - 9 years ago
I think god and Jesus needs us more
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 9 years ago
Thank you, Bud! While we are commanded to judge righteous judgment, and not to hate our brother in our heart by allowing sin upon him; the things that belong only to God, is NOT for us to meddle in! There is a very interesting part in Ezekiel, that speaks of even Sodom and Samaria being restored by God to their former estate; ( Eze. 16:53-55); which sheds some great light upon that subject.
  • A disciple - 9 years ago
"And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us." When we read (for example) John 13-17, it should be clear that there is a reason for us being left in the world for this time. And it should also seem nothing strange what we encounter.
  • A disciple - 9 years ago
"And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear." Its interesting how many crowds of "followers" have so many different and opposing ideas about Jesus' coming, and the things necessary to happen, to bring the completion of this age, and the salvation of the world!
  • A disciple on Luke 19 - 9 years ago
"And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house." The Lord Jesus knows who His friends are no matter what others think of us, and speak evil behind His back. What is it our business to judge another man's servant? We all must come to Jesus to be saved, and will each of us be judged by Jesus.
  • A disciple on Exodus 16 - 9 years ago
What stands out as extraordinary in the character and behavior of the people? These special and favored people saw all of God's mighty works done right before their eyes; and yet they could not find a way to receive His Spirit, repent and be converted, and become His loving obedient children! Our generation has had the Bible, and all of history testifying to us: but where is the fruit?
  • Felicia on John 2 - 9 years ago
    Verse 5
I admire Jesus' mother for the confidence she had in her son Jesus. We should learn from her advice to the servants and also from the simple obedience of those servants which brought about that great miracle Jesus performed. Scripture cannot be broken, our blessing is tied up to our obedience to the word of God. Lord Jesus help us to trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy....
  • Bud on Romans 10 - 9 years ago
Verna, Bruce, And Kelsey: Two questions, 1. How do you know that they do not have GOD in their heart. 2. How are you to judge, that is GOD' job not ours. Your job is to pray for them.
  • Nimrod on Luke 3 - 9 years ago
Pets receive Salvation? You must be crazy!!
Romans 8:28 Only those souls who God knew before Creation are destined for Salvation!
A soul must believe to be saved. A soul will not believe unless God births that soul from above [Reborn] to believe. And the only souls that God rebirths to believe are the souls which He knew before Creation.

  • Gary johnson on Proverbs 5 - 9 years ago
Holden with the cords of sin. There can come a time after ignoring instruction, that one will be cut off and left to the rot of sins that will consume the sinner.
