    Hello Chris,

Your quote," What he shared was the correct application of biblical hermeneutics, which must be foundational in the reading of the Scriptures. If we get that wrong then everything we build upon it will be in error. And that probably accounts, in the greater part, for so many different interpretations and applications of the Scripture."

Who determined Bible hermeneutics as the foundation in the reading of the Scriptures? God touches the mouth or gives his words to ingest so the man tasked with it delivers. The Jews did not receive it as intended.. Neither the audience of the apostles. There is only one way to understand God's word. Obedience.

God warned Adam,"In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Correct way is to obey it totally. How Adam would reckon the day is out of place. This simple error shows Bible hermeneutics is a placebo given to a believer to be led by man and his carnal wisdom.

Hello Meek and seek. I had read through Lbooth1955's understanding of 2 Peter 1:20 and then your reply and wondered what you found in his reply that was inaccurate. What he shared was the correct application of biblical hermeneutics, which must be foundational in the reading of the Scriptures. If we get that wrong then everything we build upon it will be in error. And that probably accounts, in the greater part, for so many different interpretations and applications of the Scripture.

You quoted in part 1 Corinthians 2:4,5, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." When Paul spoke and wrote to the Church there, the Holy Spirit enabled him to bring together all of the Scriptures that properly and correctly manifested Christ Jesus, showing that Jesus was truly God's Love declared by the giving of Himself for their sakes. The world thinks that is ridiculous ("the wisdom of men" & 1 Corinthians 1:18)), for man must pay for his own sins and hope for God's acceptance. But Paul stood against the wisdom of men (Gentiles) and those who sought signs (Jews), but proclaimed what all the Scriptures testified of Jesus.

Once as a high-ranking Jew, Paul believed he understood the Scriptures correctly and so taught others. But when he came to faith, he had to count all that understanding 'loss and dung' as the Spirit enabled him to understand the Word correctly. Did he then lose sight of the correct understanding of Israel's history, God's Plan for them and for the Church (of both Jew & Gentile), and of things future? Not at all. All that God had proclaimed concerning National Israel still holds true and will come to pass. Then Jesus came and brought believing Jew & Gentile into the one Body. Correct distinctions need to be maintained or else we can make the Bible mean anything we want to suit our theology. GBU.

    Hey Meek and seek,

May you see this: your reply is already gone. I will keep it short in respect of others.

Much of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 focuses on the end times. If we look closer, some of what Jesus told the four was specifically for their time. First, back then, they didn't even understand that Jesus was going to be executed, as shown in Luke 9:44-45 and Luke 18:31-34. We also see how they reacted after Jesus was crucified; they did not believe Mary and the other women who had seen Jesus.

When Jesus spoke about the temple, he said that not one stone would be left on top of another, which describes what happened in AD 70. There was a church in Jerusalem led by James and other Christians in Judea during this period. History records that they escaped to a city called Pella. Many link the phrase "abomination of desolation" to the end times, the antichrist, and the false teaching of the rapture. However, Jesus isn't referring to Daniel 9:27 but to the prophecy in Daniel 11:31 and Daniel 12:11.

Wording in Daniel 9:27, "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate," Daniel 11:31, "the abomination that maketh desolate." Daniel 12:11 "the abomination that maketh desolate set up,"

Antiochus IV Epiphanes carried out this act in 167 BC; this is the abomination of desolation Jesus is talking about. Jesus is warning them that the same event will happen before the temple's destruction in AD 70. History records this; it did happen, the warning Luke gave in Luke 21:20. If we look at Daniel 9:27, it says that for the abominations, He, who is Jesus, will make it desolate, referring to Matthew 23:36-38.

Just something you may study, I feel you and I try to study in prayer without preconceived assumptions.

    God bless,

    Hi girls friends,

Giannis, you made a very important and precise correction. That's what I appreciate about this site - this kind of careful attention. You made a very important and necessary correction. Thank you for your diligence.

As for my plans, this message came at a defining moment. I confirm that my plans for Alaska are real - it will be a season of work and, primarily, of seeking God in the quietness of those lands. However, my departure will only take place after the end of this year.

**Until then, I will be here.**

My heart remains in this forum, which is a genuine source of fellowship and learning. I will continue to be immersed in the Word with you all, learning from the brothers, and of course, I'll "chime in" from time to time. I don't intend to abandon this community anytime soon.

Although life may get busy and my presence may not be constant, know that I'll be around, in spirit and in prayer. I'll be following the discussions and continuing to grow in grace and knowledge alongside all of you.

    A fraternal embrace to everyone.

    Hello Richard,

I think that the gospel was presented at Charlie Kirk's memorial and therefore, our President heard it several times over from a number of those who spoke. We cannot know all of what President Trump has heard or what people have said to him about his need for salvation in Christ. We do not know how the Holy Spirit is working in him, either. So, we can truly be committed to praying for him often. What we hear or read in the media of his comments on spiritual matters is not all that there is to this in his personal life. We can hope that he will be regenerated and saved by coming to faith in our Lord.

Praying for our leaders in government is Scriptural as it says in 1 Tim. 2:1-2 exhorts us to do. So, it is good for us to pray for President Trump and not sit in judgment of him as to the condition of his heart. We can look at the fruit in anyone's life and know some of what their spiritual life is like, but only God not only knows the heart of everyone, but He also knows what He has decreed for each person as to how He will work in the lives of the elect to bring them to salvation. We do not know if others are elect though unless they come to profess a life alive in Christ. Most people we will never know well enough to see if their walk matches their profession, so we can leave off judging and instead hope that God will bring others to salvation in His timing and way.

Please know that I am not making excuses for Mr. Trump. He, like so many who have lived for themselves most of their lives may not have conviction of their sinfulness because they do not know the holiness of God to compare themselves to. But to each person death comes. And should someone have time before death takes them they may at that time turn to God for help. We can be happy that this does happen even though we would have wished for them to have turned to God years before.

I pray for God to send into Trump's circle professing Christians that will truly minister to him rightly.

    Question?

If baptism required for salvation, and if so which one?

Matthew 28:19 - The "Great Commission" command from Jesus: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them"

Acts 2:38 - "The day of Pentecost" "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

    Hello Meek and Seek,

I agree with you that the more we want to learn, the more the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ, teaches us. It is a wonderful (inexhaustible source) of growth in which our search is answered by divine revelation.

However, I also believe that extra-biblical books can be beneficial tools, especially when we have difficulty remembering the large number of people in the Bible. There are so many individuals, and some are simply called "servants" without their names being recorded, but their roles are equally important. These nameless faithful can teach us profound lessons about humility and service.

One book I find useful to read along with the Bible is Paul Gardner's Who's Who in the Bible. It serves as a quick reference guide to the main characters, providing valuable context. By quickly clarifying who's who, it allows me to focus more deeply on the spiritual details and message of the passages I'm reading. It's like having a helpful map for a rich and complex landscape.

Middle East peace: The crux of the matter.

An AI search on the idea of the "Two State Solution" shows that it has been a concept for Palestine since 1937. So this has been going on even before the current 1948 State of Israel existed apparently. If you had a rabbit for a pet that you baited with a carrot for 88 years it probably wouldn't pay too much attention.

The basic logic of attempting to sell such a bill of goods no doubt is assisted with endless cash incentives; land swaps; etc. but in reality neither Israel or the surrounding Muslim nations are interested in such an option; but it appears Antichrist will accomplish it as half the city is taken in the end part of the time of Jacob's trouble ( Zech. 14:2).

We certainly are delusional thinking that both parties can live "side by side in peace and security" if they didn't even BEFORE the nation of Israel was reformed in 1948. Of course the Colonialists redefined whole areas of the Middle East to control their economies and subsequently after creating this problem offered the "solution"; or as some have stated "order out of chaos".

It seems a bit hard sometimes when we are commanded in a way to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" ( Psalm 122:6) when they are described in less than favorable terms in Revelation; and also will sign a covenant with "death and hell" willingly ( Isaiah 28:18). We can possibly see a short respite for a few days or weeks; more likely the eventual fruition of the Millennium that is to come; hopefully accellerating toward that through the faithful preaching of the Gospel ( 2 Peter 3:12).

Obviously there is no peace for the wicked; or without the Prince of Peace. Men's hearts are wicked; therefore the resulting religions; ideologies or demonic entities that are motivating the world system to hurtle it to it's consummation.

In conclusion I won't express any opinion or thought as to any temporary interim of peace with today's negotiations as they seem to be nearing Daniel 9:27.

I won't present one of the hot topics in regard to the recent events as to certain people being martyrs in the technical sense of the word. There are some who indeed seem to be trying to focus right now on spreading the Gospel that are still aligned with certain political organizations and affiliations; and others who have been doing that for a while that are "saddling up" to these groups. I personally wouldn't want to deal with what surely will be fierce resistance from those that have other motives as their primary concern. This statement; again deals with any ministry which is not affiliated with any political cause where the Pastor in particular has millions or tens of millions and at times HUNDREDS of millions of dollars of assets (not even considering one particular individual with say 40 or 50 rolexes; multiple airplanes; etc). The grey areas of those considered trustworthy adherents to the Word of God still are in positions where they can easily be too comfortable or covetous of material wealth or security as well as the legality of all transactions when loopholes of nebulous moral implications may be easy to involve oneself in.

Persecution: What about the suffering saints?

It is surely underrated in many churches from my experience a sense of urgency in corporate prayer for the suffering beievers around the world; and with those who are into certain popular movements today that are of an ecumenical persuasion; it seems seldom to never is that a topic of consideration. If the leaders live like kings; we then have an opposite situation from the Apostle Paul who was forced to sarcastically refer to the Corinthians as such while giving a laundry list of sufferings and sacrifices he had made for the churches at large. Oh such an example if it were found today! Then we may see leadership empathetic to sufferings of other truly great men of God whatever title they choose to invoke as to the role they have in church leadership; insipiring others.

    "Declaring blessings"

As with any other warped scriptural mindset that exists today (that's how I am calling it) there was a precedent particularly in the O.T. where remembrance of God's providence in the past and His many benefits were contemplated. This consisted as well of the land covenant promises as well as other principals where God said the land would produce in abundance and families would experience the overflow of such benefits from the result of Godly upbringing. Proverbs is particularly rich in regard to the latter; and Psalms discusses many times lessons to be learned from praising God and avoiding the error that caused almost the entire first generation to perish in the wilderness.

Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the "declarations" usually end up with a common denominator of the dollar as a "name it claim it; blab it grab it" type of mentality. Now I'm not a betting man but I wouldn't at all be surprised with the electronic worldwide currencies coming to pass that the emphasis will go to what is truly "Babylon the Great"; a worldwide revitalized trade of all sorts of luxuries described in detail in Revelation 17 and 18 with its subsequent demise in an hour.

Once there is a worldwide war (and I can only hope that is after the Rapture); then we likely will see precious metals; as the book of James indicates becoming a curse.

It seems today with many of the large scale events that older or married people are sort of bypassed for those in their 20s. How is there supposed to be a practical aspect of all of this revival that is even relevant to the family dynamics; or any sort of structured worship? Is anyone even allowed to ask where the money is going with all these shell game tactics?

I don't want to constantly get into these subjects like beating a dead horse. One thing that is certain; if we are living a lifestyle of sin of any sort without genuine conviction from the Spirit we've got a problem.

    Hello Mek,

I never lean on commentaries, books, or denominational teachings of men, because they all carry the ideas and traditions of human reasoning. I am a King James Bible believer only, trusting God's preserved Word to be the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The only wisdom I have is by the Holy Spirit, who teaches me truth as I carefully compare Scripture with Scripture in its proper context. God's Word interprets itself, line upon line and precept upon precept, never contradicting but always confirming itself. When rightly divided, the Bible brings clarity that no denomination or commentary can give. The Spirit of God illuminates His Word to those who humbly study it, not through men's traditions but through revelation given in the Scriptures themselves. I encourage you to try it sometime-set aside denominational bias and man's opinions, and simply let the Word of God speak for itself. It will open your eyes to truth far greater than anything religion or men's writings can provide.

As to you referencing of 1st Cor. chapters 1-5 & Heb. 11:3 you may want to clarify what you are trying to communicate.

    Some thoughts to consider:

    American "exceptionalism".

Once upon a time; many moons ago our nation had at least the appearance of one that stood for principles; fought with many sacrifices for freedom; and struggled to labor during the Industrial Revolution to forge out an existence which allowed for eventual success for some; and a work ethic for everyone to follow.

Before we openly dismiss those who would question our glorious past; of course we need to have a matter of fact review of how the Colonists basically took over the indigenous peoples; enslaved masses brought over from the African continent; and committed various atrocities that are still being revealed from the past in regard to lynchings and other nefarious behaviors.

Irregardless; we can certainly say that our nation has certain freedoms that; by and large exceed most of the rest of the world even to this day where there actually has in the past been some adherence to the Constitution of the land regarding freedoms that in other nations such as China merely existed on paper. As mentioned before and as most probably are aware of there were secret societies involved with the monetary system; transportation grid patterns in certain cities (DC in p;articular) and some noteable individuals who embraced more liberal and at time atheist points of view staring in the "Age of Enlightenment" that developed late in the 19th Century.

In reality also the family structure was the main component that allowed for the accumulated wealth of several generations which we have seen before this generation allowing for our lifestyle of such ease compared to much of the rest of the world.

We can give credit where it is due; that there were a decent number of true Christians involved with the foundation of our country that kept moral decay from premature appearances; but of course that is largely gone today. We were as some say represented in the past by the Philadelphia church sending missionaries overseas.

Imagine for a moment that someone was going to give our current President or members of the administration a true presentation of the Gospel. I'm not by any means with a comprehensive knowledge of the whole history in regard to those who may have attempted to do so; but when you see the gathering of his "spiritual advisors" I don't see anyone who has challenged his statements in the past about not needing forgiveness; or perhaps of late in regard to his self-admittance of hating his enemies and challenging that God indeed can change a human heart through the Spirit and rebirth to do just that. Instead; of course he is told what he wants to hear.

The reality of the matter is that many of the false religious system today and their "proclamations" can be easily tracked by following the money trail. Everyone is; well to put it nicely holding onto the coattails of others who are also involved in the corporate structure which many of these so called ministries in reality are.

Of course the meat of a mature walk with God is experience rightly dividing the Word ( 2 Tim. 2:15) which of course comes from meditating on the Word. This is more than just finding a few verses to cherry pick to promote an agenda of some sort. It is amazing taking the Word of God literally in past events as well as future prophecies seems like the logical approach; but we often see anything but. Promises for Israel as a nation; some of which may or may not be applicable in future events along with the past are appropriated to describe some blessing of the church. We hear a lot about manifesting certain things but how many are giving any hint as to how to discern between God and the Devil as to what is being experienced? The fear of the Lord is one thing but the mad gyrations of at least one of the female voices in the NAR today; well it seems to be like the old saying if it walks like a duck and sounds like one it probably is. God is not the author of confusion.

I'd read 1 Corinthians chapter 1 to 5 it says it much better than your attempt . And more accurate as well . Just a few highlights 2v 3 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men , but in the power of God .

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God :

There is so much in these chapters , just read them . Hebrews Ch 11 v 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God I recommend just read the Bible from start to finish and if God through his Spirit is teaching you will learn more than any seminary! As Jesus said to his disciples, if you continue in my word you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free! Amen Get reading it and put down those books of men ! Amen !

    Annotated Gen.2.15-17

v.15 "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it." God tasked him with to dress it and also keep it. Eve was yet to come so may guess the presentation of the first begotten to the world before the host of angels. They knew their relative positions and Adam in his Son has a name to begin with.'as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."(Heb.1.4,6)

v.16 "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:."

. The angels were designated as ministering spirit so Adam did not know anything other than what God had to impart. This explains why the specific commandment was a big deal. It was the simple question of obedience. Untested faith is no faith. He had to prove his DNA was as that of his Son.

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The Lord God has by a decree delivered the Day. (Ps.2.7) So 'this day' is not simply so many hours but setting the relation of Adam to him by the Word which was God. His Son bore 'our image' as Adam by the same token was 'after our likeness'. In the Word circular Adam was like the one who put his hand over the plough. "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."Lk.9.62) Whosoever denied the Son denied the Father. Adam's disobedience was not simply disobedience but refusal to honour Him. He was guilty of the same sin as Moses. He refused to honour his Son as well as Him. He sin was against 'heaven and before thee'. " Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee."(Lk.15.18)

    Hi Diane,

Isaiah 49:16 is one verse where it speaks of being engraved on the palm of God's hand

John 10:28 is the other where Jesus says that He gives us eternal life and no one can snatch us out of His hand.

I love these verses that give us assurance of God's faithful keeping of us in this life and the life to come.

Those prophets were told only what they needed to hear and deliver. Jeremiah pleaded his youth but God would have none of it. "the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. |(Jer.1.9) Also a warning," Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them."1.17) Lest I confound thee'

2 Peter 1:20 says, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." Peter is reminding us that prophecy does not originate with man, nor is it fulfilled by man's opinions or imaginations. Prophecy came as God progressively revealed His plan for Israel's kingdom program, and it must be interpreted in light of God's purpose-not our private reasoning. Verse 21 confirms this: "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

The key here is recognizing that the Old Testament prophets never saw the Church, the Body of Christ. Paul plainly declares this "mystery" was "hid in God" until revealed to him ( Eph. 3:1-9; Col. 1:25-26). To read Paul's gospel of grace back into the prophets is to engage in the very private interpretation Peter warns against. The prophets spoke of Israel's restoration, Messiah's reign on earth, and judgment of the nations. These promises remain true and await literal fulfillment in the millennial kingdom.

This is why Paul exhorts us to "rightly divide the word of truth" ( 2 Tim. 2:15). God's Word must be interpreted according to its proper dispensation. Israel's prophetic hope concerns the earthly kingdom, while Paul's revelation concerns the heavenly calling of the Body of Christ. To blend them is to misapply prophecy and confuse God's distinct programs.

Thus, 2 Peter 1:20 warns us not to force our own meaning into prophecy. Instead, we let Scripture interpret Scripture, acknowledging God's progressive revelation. Prophecy is sure, it will come to pass exactly as written for Israel, and the mystery revealed to Paul remains our doctrine today. Anything else is private interpretation, and therefore error.

    Dear Spencer,

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the way you presented your thoughts. It was clearly stated, balanced, and very well put. It's refreshing to see something expressed with both clarity and kindness. You managed to make your point firmly while still keeping it thoughtful and respectful-something not everyone does well.

I believe the way you worded things will not only help others better understand but also invite them to reflect without feeling pushed or dismissed. That kind of tone often opens more doors for meaningful discussion.

So, thank you again for the way you shared. It was, in every sense of the word, nicely put.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Other translations say guard your heart. In this segment I am surveying God's exclusivity; or narrow path in comparison with the ecumenical "wide road" as it were. I will let the reader find the verse "you shall know them by their fruits"; but when we look at the recent increasing number of scandals that seem to be affecting many well known megachurch Pastors; many of whom are in what is called "hypercharismatic" circles often they don't practice what they preach. In general; we can examine what spirit is affecting people when we see the long term changes or lack thereof that result. Such is the case often when people have an "experience" these days in mass gatherings which have a sort of self fulfilling prophecy of predetermined objectives. Rather than looking for one of the lost sheep the 99 seem to be the focus; and the message in regard to the narrow path seems to be; well-lost in the wayside more or less.

The irony is the freedom such gatherings promise ends up being captivity; where a person's God given individuality in regard to spiritual gifting is put aside to majority opinion which historically is often a dangerous mindset. People no doubt feel free of the traditional ordinances of church structure; and no doubt some have found a temporary reprieve from stuffy; legalistic congregations which have stifled to a large extent genuine praise and thanksgiving which should accompany the assembly of the righteous.

Embracing any human mindset of values without the power of the Spirit's righteousness stated in John 16:8 risks demonic entities mimicking God and of course exaggerates the platitudes of those who are on the "top of the heap" of such ventures; which in reality are part of a large corporation type entity rather than true fellowship in many cases.

Whatever scripture apart from extrabiblical standards are applied brings some truth despite deception.

"And the Sabbath is still the day of worship! , it makes sense the LORD is eternal , so is his Day."

There shall be no night there. " And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it:"(Rev.21.23) The Light of the Lamb is for the new earth so nations saved 'walk in the light of it' The door is open but only whose names 'are written in the Lamb's book of life.' This is the testimony of ' I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you." (22.16)

What you are referring is with regards to the outer darkness where as shown in the last vision of Ezekiel carry references to new moon, " but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened."(Ezek,46.1) They are looking at at the wrong gate for the reason the gates of the holy city 'And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day.'(21.26)

The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days.

There is only one Covenant and Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the Law.

"So is his Day' to quote you, it is the day given to him by a decree.(Ps.2.7)

    Annotated Gen.2.10-14

God blessed Adam with all heavenly blessings which is annotated by Eph.1.3, 'with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.' The Spirit refers four river heads which are labels to indicate whosoever believes in the Word become flesh shall have everlasting life. The garden is the microcosm for the world framed by the word of God. So faith in the Son delivers man from judgment, and it is complete . He who has the Son has the Father as well. The Word was God. Out of the believer we have another aspect of the Spirit to which Jesus declared,"out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." (Jn.7.38) The gospel sets the context in the indwelling Spirit. So what does his works tell? "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."( Jn 14.22) Believer fulfils the second aspect. The Word was with God. 'Christ in me' and as branch to the true Vine he is part of the word circular.

Jn 14.39."(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

The risen Christ in his glory holding the worlds by the word of his power tells me that the Lord is the fulfilment of the Law. It is thus four river heads are set for the world.

Notice the v.14 "And the fourth river is Euphrates." This refers to an actual river existing so from Eden to the world is a valley secured by angels whom God made "ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"(Heb.1.14)

In this context we have the Spirit making the 'great' river the river Euphrates from this river. " Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates."(Rev.9.14) This is heavenly and promised to Abram, "Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:"(15.18)
