  • A disciple on Psalms 71 - 8 years ago
"In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion." Psalms 71:1 What ever entered into men's hearts, and after what were they led, that confusion should then be sent by God for judgment and punishment, restraining them from what they imagined to do? And how so would it be God's conclusion and righteous remedy to let one be put to confusion? The degree of embarrassment should be fitting to the measure of our pride in the trespass, and of the inordinate thoughts and behavior we followed against better judgment and obedience. The error of the ungodly is made manifest by the confusion and darkness that they are held under and it shouldn't be any less for one professing knowledge of the truth in Christ. All the more we ought to be careful to attend to love, and a good conscience, and faith without hypocrisy, if we like not to be ashamed before men or worse, at the presence of the Lord when He comes.
  • Leslie Brown on Psalms 46 - 8 years ago
As I read this psalms it resures me that my God with me. He is in control of my life I must put my trust in Him and he will direct my path. We live in a world where the devil is trying to be in control with what comes out of our mouths so me must alway speaking the word of our God. There is power in the word of God. Let all work by faith not by sight. We serve a might God in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
  • Elijah - 8 years ago
Dear Disciple: You wrote, I'd say that it is extremely significant, and has to do with being the children of God. The great ones of the heathen are no gods but the works of men.
When the scripture stated this in Gen. it was referring to all man-kind, and not a selective group of mankind.
  • Elijah on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
Praises to the Father and son: To one and all, when I stated it is of no significance, I was taking the same attitude of Christ when he told his explanation for making this stated fact in John 32. He was telling the crowd of people to calm down because it was no big deal that he had stated such. Secondly, how does the disclosure of this fact, have any effect on my salvation?
  • Leslie Brown on Psalms 45 - 8 years ago
The flesh is weak and the devil is here to kill steal and destroy. That is when God word is very important in our lives. We must seek his word each and every day in order to stay strong and prosperity. He will never leave or forsake us but we must do our part and read and apply His word. Trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding and He will direct your path through the Holy Spirit
  • Tamar on James 5 - 8 years ago
James uses some ensamples for us to follow. Job through his suffering he prayed to God, and God brought him out of tribulations,Elias prayed that it might not rain God didn't send any rain. James also said the fervent prayers of the righteous avails much, we must pray without ceasing God shows pity for when we going through hard times and mercy bringing us out every situation the enemy gets us in.
  • Tamar on Ezekiel 11 - 8 years ago
I realize how in Ezekiel everything is moving by the power of God the cherubs, Ezekiel being led by God to prophesy what thus saith the Lord. The Lord said he will lead you,and guide you and they that are led by the spirit of God they are the sons of God. Truly as being a christian we must allow God to lead, and guide us in everthing we do.
  • Jeff Berry on John 19 - 8 years ago
Disciple; I don't think we "disagree". (Unless you believe that Judas had no choice...then I would respectfully disagree). Certainly, Judas had traveled much farther down that path than Peter. (And possibly Judas was never a believer). But Peter repented. I just see a contrast between Judas' choice and Peter's and an example of God's wonderful grace. Blessings my friend!
  • Alex on John 3 - 8 years ago
Disciple ty for reading me..27 times in the O.T. the prophets saw the world in travail and birth pains, simply b/c of the bridegroom and his seed which is the WORD,he does not refer to himself as the bridegoom for nothin, he has a seed to sow in humanity, which is the world,he says the field is the world where that good seed will be sown n our hearts , THATS Y HE HAS TO KNOW US

  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 13 - 8 years ago
Eternal truths- Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 2 Chronicles 30 - 8 years ago
It is great to praise the Lord. Hezekiah led Judah and Israel to praise the Lord and it was delightful in God's sight.
  • Steve on Psalms 91 - 8 years ago
I find great comfort in ps.91, as I am slowly recovering from a very serious disease contracted from the hospital. I believe Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me, and HE will see me through this trial.
  • Wayne on Matthew 4 - 8 years ago
V.17, Jesus didn't say to b baptized for salvation. He stated repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
  • Jeanniev on Jeremiah 35 - 8 years ago
Sorry I misread/misunderstood about the Rechabites. Thanks to 'a disciple' for explicit explanation. May God continue to bless us as we help each other to understand His words.
  • Dewey J on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
A disciple, amen nothing is significant in scripture except what God says! Glory be to God in the highest!
  • Harold on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
My Pastor says the word 'angels' in verse 20 refers to the pastors of the seven churches. I am not sure of that., is that correct?
  • A disciple on Revelation 9 - 8 years ago
Thank you Carolyn for speaking up! You are perfectly correct; Angels are spirits, not flesh and bones; and have not the capacity to reproduce or copulate. That whole idiotic notion came from the same men who have tried to wipe out every reference to Christ out of the Scriptures of the Prophets. They have always resisted the Holy Ghost, and are without any understanding that we should look to them!
  • A disciple on James 1 - 8 years ago
"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." We are of the world to come which the Lord Jesus brings from the right hand of the Father to establish the world in righteousness and truth and life everlasting. The soundness and solidity of our understanding of this is what makes our faith in Him firmly established and unmovable. We are not uncertain about the truth, that God is! And we are not unstable and flow to the point of least resistance like water but our stability is in the supreme greatness and authority of Him who both created the waters, and walks upon them! Let us strive with all earnestness and determination to let patience have its perfect work in us, that we should not be ashamed at His coming but receive Him with fullness of joy and expectation when He appears.
  • Geraldine Stephens on Matthew 24 - 8 years ago
None of many will not be ready. He will come like a thief in the night. Be not afraid. If you love Jesus and keep the commandments God handed down through Moses than you will pray that Christ comes sooner. Teach your children the scriptures, pray with them. Teach them to love and not hate. Forgive those that curse you. Pray often for forgiveness. He will forgive you also. Christ gave his for us. í ½

Elijah (cont.); the absurdity of the devil's slanders and deceitful suggestions, is that God had already made man in His image and likeness, and had already put everything on earth under his dominion; and for the devil to imply that God was keeping us back from something we deserved, only tells of his own perverted and wicked mind. He is the father of lies and has never stood in the truth.
  • A disciple on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
Elijah; to what you wrote, (It is of no significance that men are called gods because Satan declared it from the beginning, "and ye shall be as gods," Gen, 3:5) God calls them gods to whom the Word of God comes and the Scriptures cannot be broken; I'd say that it is extremely significant, and has to do with being the children of God. The great ones of the heathen are no gods but the works of men.
  • Carolyn Rowe on Revelation 9 - 8 years ago
The angels did not marry women. Jesus in the new testament spoke to those who would ask corrupt questions about 7 men having the same wife. Whose wife would she be in heaven. Jesus answered : you do err, not knowing the scriptures, for in heaven they neither marry or are given in marriage, but are like the angels. Angels do not marry. The sons of God refers to true believers.
  • A disciple on Revelation 11 - 8 years ago
Dewey; Enoch and Elijah were taken alive into heaven; and so we must conclude that their work is NOT finished, and that God took them aside till He would use them again at another time. The Scriptures say that "Elijah must come first:" the Lord doesn't use the real to identify types, and then not bring forth the real and the complete. John came in the Spirit and power of Elijah not to replace him.

Fred (cont.); As you said, "Looks as if the end is upon us;" the reason you might find this a profitable exercise, to look up the archaic and root meanings of the numbers 666; is because it should confirm and enlighten much Scripture that before may have been locked up, with no way to interpret them. There was a reason why these three particular letters were used to indicate those numbers.
  • Leslie Brown on Psalms 44 - 8 years ago
We must make sure we are having a relationship with God. Seeking Him each day of our lives. He is the only one that can protect us through the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
