  • Israel Jantzen on Isaiah 44 - 9 years ago
Isa 44-45 say that Cyrus would rebuild the temple, but Ezra and Neh say that it was rebuilt during the reign of Darius, three kings later. That is not a contradiction if Cyrus is actually a type of Christ at his second coming, when Ezk 37 says Christ will build his own temple. Notice that that necessarily means that Christ will destroy the third temple that Israel is planning to build.

    Amen.
  • Oluwafemi on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
Psa 91 tells me about the goodness of God and His generosity. I've come to a point in my live, never to doubt a single word of the Bible.
Around PM7:45 tonight, I was walking on the street in the dark, wearing slippers, with my feet unprotected. I heard a sound and noticed something struggling under my feet.
To my utmost dismay, it was a long serpent and surprisingly, it does no harm to my legs

Like light in darkness so is the one(chosen) by God is among the worldly children of this age. Brethren let us be careful. Jesus encouraged us that our light should shine before them so they can turn to the father for repentance, please let your life style encourage others to come to Christ than you are a rose among thorns very precious before God.
  • Word on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Lu2677 don't get confused in the names that's what Satan wants. Enoch the builded of city isn't the Enoch that belongs to Jared of Adams. It's easy to get confused so you have to read very slow and take it all in so you'll understand but you'll get it.
  • A disciple on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
Felicia (continuing); I found certain prayers in the Epistles of Paul, and in the Psalms, that were specifically asking for understanding and spiritual knowledge. I kept praying these prayers every day, for I don't know how long; and tried my best to meditate on the meaning as best I could. I found the answer came quite natural (in a godly sense) as through time, experience, maturity and proving.
  • A disciple on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
Hi Felicia; Your request is almost word-for-word to what Paul wrote in several of his Epistles; and I was taught a long time ago, that the prayers in the Bible were written for our benefit, and for us to use them. That makes sense, because it was the Holy Spirit who inspired them, and we want God's thoughts on how to pray! Look in Philippians, Colossians, Ephesians, and Psalm 119, for starters.
  • A disciple on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
Bruce; it seems that every time someone has an honest question, your answer is like a cookie-cutter response; "are you saved? how did you get saved? etc..." Why don't you think a little harder on the questions being asked, and see if you really have something substantial to offer; instead of immediately casting doubts and suspicious insinuations? Knowledge and transformation is not automatic!
  • Jesse Bryant on Revelation 21 - 9 years ago
Rev. 21:14 we have to wait for the new heaven and Earth to finally know for sure the answer to one of the great perplexing questions of the last two thousand years... Was the twelfth apostle indeed Paul or Matthias...
  • A disciple on John 11 - 9 years ago
Hi Bruce; I like the word "convicted of my sins" better than a "tug on my heart;" I think you can guess the difference. I was saved by Jesus through faith. Conviction is in the realm of faith and spiritual, and it is for the intent of getting us to repent and be converted. As a seal of that reconciliation, when we are obedient and ask Him for it; God gives us His Spirit into our hearts to live it!
  • David Shibli on Matthew 24 - 9 years ago
To add to my previous comment, I know that many of us are going through a really tough time right now, but the reason is clear. You cannot pour anything into a cup that is already full.
The true stones that constitute the Church will be full of the Holy Spirit. This is the only building which the Master will inhabit. Brothers and Sisters, let us become empty, so He can fill us...with LOVE.
  • Stretcheth the Heavens Zech 12:1 ily on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, stretcheth means:in a prolong fashion.Clearly the Heavens were more condensed to begin with, therefore the stretching. This is still going on today. All the components being closer together allow the Earth to have more light in its original construction. No need for the Sun and Moon to be set in place yet
  • RVO on Psalms 63 - 9 years ago
Psalm 63 is the soldier's psalm and is a favorite amongst many in uniform.
  • Lu2677 on Ephesians 2 - 9 years ago
Felicia; Ephesians 2:1-7(Washed by His blood/made clean of past sins, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, discernment happens when He does this:""Eph.2:8-10."" There will be more than "just three things you will have to do" after he calls you, Don't let anyone deceive you with smooth words.Seek wisdom and get understanding. And it is NOT easy continuing in the faith/The battle against the flesh wages on.

  • BSP on Philippians 3 - 9 years ago
In verse 8 Paul viewed the things he had left behind as dung. He viewed spiritual blessings as a greater gain than any material things he had before.
  • Brianna vs. 14 on 2 Corinthians 3 - 9 years ago
We are not under the Mosaic Law, that law has been done away with. We are not under the Law of Christ. The Bible refers to it as the New Covenant. The New Covenant does contain many of the same principles that were in the Mosaic, yet, not all. For example the blood of Jesus sacrifice did away with the need for animal sacrifices. The Mosaic law was never to be permanent.
  • Brianna vs. 25 on Mark 11 - 9 years ago
Perhaps you have wondered why we must forgive others. We may be unaware, but we all offend God someway somehow every day of our lives. The Bible says to treat others the way we want to be treated. Therefore, if we can forgive others then God has a basis to forgive us, and thus applying the Ransom sacrifice of Jesus to us.
  • Ren on 1 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
Don't forget Mark 2:10-11. 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee,Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. KJV

I'm Catholic but very low on their teaching I see a lot holes too much state not scriptures I believe the world is flat and the firmament is heaven our scientists are not following what God revealed to us in fact God mention do not listen to men traditions including holidays statues and idols and others pretending to be God like The Popes accept Peter and Paul are all number 666
  • Word on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Annie think of it this way. God is in control of His word and it is His will that we received the word the way He wanted us to have it. Also remember our Father created everything we see and even what we see with and He is so powerful so I believe that He made sure we received the scriptures exactly in the order He wanted us to have them and exactly how we are able to read them. God made sure.
  • A disciple on Psalms 56 - 9 years ago
"Thou tellest (number, account of) my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?" When the Lord said that "...your reward shall be great in the heavens;" He was saying that He will pay us our wages for working for Him. When the Angel stood at the Altar of incense before God's throne, and offered the prayers of all Saints; this caused the Day of His Wrath to come!
  • A disciple on 2 Samuel 6 - 9 years ago
Peter; Good post! Thank you! The supreme glory of belonging to Jesus, and having His Spirit given into our hearts; if we could begin to grasp that as David did, we too would be dancing and leaping for joy before the LORD. The small characters of the Michals of the world sneer and scorn at the Saints of Jesus; but God sees it all, and He knows how to humble the proud, and correct their thinking.
  • A disciple on James 3 - 9 years ago
Charles; I appreciate reading your post. Humility is always honest, and for us to wait on the Lord for His direction as to our service; this is great understanding. In Hebrews 11, the part where Paul talks about Moses; its interesting how Moses apparently had already some idea that God was going to use him to deliver Israel from Egypt; and he was called by God, the meekest of men: and he waited!
  • Jesse Bryant on John 1 - 9 years ago
John 1:18 dispels the idea of Jesus as "the angel of the Lord". This chapter makes it abundantly clear that Jesus and the Father are one and the same God (though distinct in person). The angel of the Lord is just that, the angel, not the Lord.
