"...I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will:" sounds like great love to me! 1 Cor. 14:26 confirms that what one has by revelation, or by knowledge, or by wisdom, or by prophecy, or by interpretation; it is for our mutual benefit and encouragement: our judging of whether something is Scriptural, should be by the nature and Spirit of God.
  • A disciple on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
Bruce; When did the Lord Jesus ever turn someone away and not answer their question? In fact just the opposite of what you say, Jesus always answered everyone; even when the word was apparently too high for them to grasp it. It's the Spirit's business to move upon the inward parts of people; it's our part, whoever has His Word, to speak His word faithfully. Let God be in charge of His own things!
  • Bryan Katchay on Acts 9 - 9 years ago
The moment Saul was converted to Paul, he became the only Apostle to us, Gentiles. Remember that all of Paul's writings was Jesus/the Holy Spirit speaking to us, not Paul himself. Since the mysteries of our Salvation was given only the Paul, he became after Jesus, the second greatest man to walk the earth. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 is the Gospel that saves, not John 3:16. Read Romans 2:16

I was afraid this would happen, kind of reminds me of Cain and Able, without the fear of god being present, but the jealousy factor and trying to kill David, this should teach us about what jealousy does to us,we DONT behave very wisely,we REACT and that is what evil prevokes in is humans,I think emotions can be a weakness used against us,but if we stop and think,we go through such ungoodly emotions.

Bruce:i was speaking more on the terms of saying I promise i will blah blah blah,I had promised God I would stop smoking herb, and I have been sticking to that, here and there, there IS this faint temptation, but I press on and over come it,I remeber what I said to him and if I said to him I promise I won't do this or that.not because I WANT something, well just to be closer to him,but I said I Promise

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the NAME of the Lord shall be saved

These two versus totally tie together - Call upon the NAME of the Lord, we need to remember Lord and God are titles. Then you will truly have a personal relationship with the true God. - Jehovah. Love and peace to you, keep seeking and learning about our creator :)

Let it be known that the horns coming out of the hands can also mean a glowing, some translations say moses had "horns" when he came down with the commandments but in KJV he came down having a glow upon him and not horns.
  • BSP on Psalms 83 - 9 years ago
Verse 18 shows the glorious personal name of God which is Jehovah.
  • Bruce on John 11 - 9 years ago
Yes,without The Spirit convicting us of sin, we think we are fine./ No man can come to me, except The Father which hath sent me draw him---: John 6:44, That's a Tug on Your Heart. He may say your wrong,You need Salvation,go to The Altar, ask Forgiveness. Satan says not now,do it later, tonight, next week. Without Salvation no one can understand The Bible. They read it with worldly eyes.
  • Edna on Galatians 1 - 9 years ago
Praise Our Lord and Savior when his word says in Ephesian 8 For by Grace you are saved through faith not of works its gift of God.it not of works should any one boast
  • Bruce on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
disciple: If One is not Saved, no answer to their question will do them much good. To receive Spiritual understanding,Knowledge of His Word and Wisdom is to be in His Word Only,a Church that Believes the same Telling Others what Christ has done and how they can be Saved. All this with Prayer: The Growth will be Amazing! We are The Light in this World. Without The Spirit you can never Learn---!?

Israel Jantzen :JESUS CHRIST has already destroyed the temple (HIS body) on the cross and is building HIS new temple by everyone that receive HIM. All christens are apart of HIS temple, which HE is the head. Are you apart of HIS temple, if not ask HIM to accept you in, HE is love and waiting for all to be part of HIS temple.
  • Lu2677 on 2 Samuel 7 - 9 years ago
I don't recall scripture that says this is why God loved David; "Truly God loved David because Christ was to be born of David's lineage." Peter A. O., Could you enlighten us with scripture? Do you think there were people throughout David's lineage that God did not love?
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 36 - 9 years ago
Steve Patten; All the years are recorded by Moses: from the Creation to the cataclysm was 1656 years; The dividing of the lands (The Tower of Babel?) was 101 years after the flood. The LORD rained fire and burning sulfur upon Sodom and Gomorrah when Abraham was 99 years old, 2048 after Creation, 391 years after the flood. Noah lived till Abraham was 58 years old. Shem outlived Abraham by 35 years.
  • Anne on Joshua 17 - 9 years ago
There is more land to be possessed, but you have to go and possess it instead of complaining.
  • Lu2677 on Ezekiel 36 - 9 years ago
SteveP. 3 men(that he called Lord) appeared before Abraham when they where there to destroy Sodom and Gammorah this is told to us in Gen.18.Noah was born; is told to us in Gen.5. Abraham was not alive at the time of the flood. So,I guess you could figure it out by the ages of the men at the time of these events.Am not saying you are wrong for asking;I am curious as to why you asked the question.

  • SONIA P on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
Praise the Lord to all Psalm 23 gives me Hope. Reminds me that Jesus will never allow me to be in need of any good things. Jesus is with me throughout my deepest valleys to bring me safely back on the mountain top. All I need to do is to pray, praise worship Him. Amen
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Gen.1:3 "And God, said let there be light, and there was light." God "said" it, that's all. It does not say "the heavens were condensed", which caused the light, nor does it say "God is stretching forth the heavens today." There is nothing new under the sun, and the world is passing away.

  • Peter A. Okebukola on 2 Samuel 7 - 9 years ago
Truly, God loves David and his lineage for the simple reason that it has been ordained from the beginning of time that Jesus will be God made man through the line of David. God, the great Master Planner Himself at work!
  • Breeze on 2 Samuel 14 - 9 years ago
To Kathleen, if you'll notice Absolam is not a righteous man. In trying to understand if something is biblical or not, look at the character of the man. Now in 1 Corinthians, I believe, it talks about nature itself teaches that it is a shame for a man to have long hair. And as I said before, Absolam was not righteous. There is exception with Samson, but as it applies most often long hair is bad.
