Dear David, There is not a sparrow that falls to the ground without our Father in heaven; and He knows the way that we take. I find it a strength in times of difficulty, to know that "we are not our own;" and that our lives are His, and on loan to us as His servants, for His use. God has made it clear, that all that we suffer wrongfully, He will remember and judge when the fullness of time comes.

To Jacko - quote, "He gave a part of Himself through Christ Jesus." unquote. Matt. 22:29; Col. 2:9; Jn. 3:34; Job 32:8. I had thought maybe you just hadn't seen these scriptures ..... ?
  • Scott Gates on Psalms 127 - 9 years ago
We are saved by both God's mercy ( Titus 3:5, which prevents us from going to Hell) and His grace ( Ephesians 2:8, which allows us to go to Heaven instead). Since God's saving mercy endureth forever, it becomes impossible for someone who gets saved to ever experience Hell! Psalm 136 is a wonderful reminder (26 times) of God's forever-enduring mercy. We have been hit over the head with this truth!

To Joyce Cardoza - Since you must know which scriptures aren't for all of us - I wish you had listed 3-4 on here so I could look them up ............

God made the life of Joseph and all the times that went over him, for being a type of Christ; for giving instruction, and for a law in Israel. As great famine spread over the whole world, in order to bring everyone to "Joseph" for food, and ended up being the means God would deal with "Joseph's" brethren, to bring them to repentance and reconciliation; so the end of this age for the sake of Israel

    This a wonderful scripture
  • David on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
It is hard sometimes to know that he is with me while I am in the valley.. It is 30 below zero I'm homeless living in my car no job and no money. But I am able to read this psalm, in my most lowest point I find comfort and hope.

  • Joanne stern on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Besides all the great meaning in the scripture, it is so beautifully spoken in the king james version. I just don't see how anyone can be vain enough to think they can improve upon it
  • Darryl J.Holliday on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago

  • Denise on Psalms 36 - 9 years ago
As a good earthly father protects and provides for his children our God serves as a greater source of provision and shield. The wicked may plot to destroy God's children yet God will prevent the wicked from harming us. Trusting in God is wise. Only a fool looks to the work of his own hands. Father God, we thank you and we love you. Teach us to worship and give praise to your Holy Name.

  • Martha Prince on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
Bruce, thank you for your ans. I posted the scriptures Revelation 13:7 and Daniel 7:25 because these two scriptures would keep me from believing in the "rapture." If the beast is coming to make war with the saints Rev 13:7 or to wear out the saints of the Most High Dan 7:25 then explain how this can happen if we are not here? I am afraid God's people will not be prepared for what is to come.
  • Paleho Khalatha on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
David says even though l walk in the valley of darkness l shall fear not. The valley is a test but not destiny. If we pass through the valley it does not mean we will die there is just a route. Our destiny is beyond the velley. We need not worry about the valley because even in that velley God is with us.

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Rom2:4
  • Irene123 on Judges 4 - 9 years ago
Man accepts excuses for sin, bot - God does not. Barak flatly refused to follow God's will. That's really plain to see. If 'inadequacy' was what he felt, he KNEW to pray ad ask God for help. He was raised on the scriptures about God helping His people. Instead he lowered himself just about as low a any man or woman can go- to bypass God and ask for human help.
  • Irene123 on Judges 3 - 9 years ago
    V. 31 - "And after him was Shamgar ..... who slew 600 men with an ox goad." Reminds one of Samson who slew hundreds with the jaw bone of an ass. All these Philistines, Amalekites, Canaanites, etc. were all 'types' of sin in the N.T. When you leave the Lord, then all these sins come after you - drugs, drinking alcohol, partying down ( 'down' is the right word).
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 27 - 9 years ago
David was a 'backslider' here in going to the Philistines for protection. He (temporarily) lost faith in God. Had he sought God's will in this situation with Saul God would have given him a better way; God is the 'way maker'. But he looked to his own wisdom in this - which displeased God, but God kept him anyway because God knew his heart.
  • A disciple on Matthew 24 - 9 years ago
"the beginning of sorrows." There are some very important things for us to understand about the eventual complete ruin of the world, and how much sorrow before the coming of the Lord. There have been many from time to time, who deceive themselves and others, about there coming a great revival first; when the Scriptures plainly say just the opposite; of great lawlessness, and all restraint removed.
  • Irene123 on John 9 - 9 years ago
To Melissa Baugh - The story of blind Bartemaeus is in Mk.10:52. This blind man's name in Jn.9 isn't mentioned. The reason more isn't said of 'Bart' is - the Bible is GOD's word, not man's, and God reveals what He wants to.
  • Irene123 on John 8 - 9 years ago
Jn. 8:32- "And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free." There is one thing forever true about the freedom truth brings: the freedom that comes when we know truth - is a 'conditional' freedom. It does not free us from the result of our deeds; the freedom that comes wit truth - is the freedom - to CHOOSE - " ... choose ye this day whom ye will serve ... "; Josh. 24:15.
  • A disciple on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
The Law is for teaching us the character of love for God and our neighbor; and the sacrifices done under the Priesthood of the sons of Aaron, to teach us the things contained in the great and perfect work of Christ our atonement and our Redeemer. What was done for bringing sins to remembrance, were not done for them to continue in sins; but to remember God's promised salvation from the beginning.

  • Irene123 on 1 Kings 15 - 9 years ago
    V. 23 - Asa's feet being 'diseased' refers to the fact that Asa did not walk in the paths of God's righteousness in his old age. It's the same with Josiah, he made a league with - somebody? and the ships they built - God destroyed before they could even use them.
  • Irene123 on 1 Kings 14 - 9 years ago
God does not 'take' anyone. He gave the human race FREE WILL - to chose Him or satan. Abortion is a free will choice of the mother, not God; the soul of the child goes to God - forever. We all have a time to die; only God knows when. That is why we must repent, be baptized in the NAME OF JESUS, and receive the Holy Ghost while it is yet 'day'; while GRACE reigns.
