Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Jeremiah 9:2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
The avid materialism of this nation in the last generation has now advanced to the point where all sorts of abominations are exalted; whether in items sold or those who suppport their cause. Our society also supports those who often are unwilling to support themselves and are encouraged to live immoral lives to get a payout.
I say this in the context of my own plans to add funds anonymously to the church's benevolent fund to help a sister who will soon be in need; as my other friend I am now supporting after the funds ran out largely due to assistance on his behalf. Of course the church is called to do what we can to feed people with not only the Gospel but literal food and clothes so we are doers of the Word not just saying be blessed and doing nothing to help when we can; as the Boook of James admonishes us.
Again; I often discuss the covenant of marriage; although I feel unworthy to do so as no doubt my own failings contributed to the demise of my marriage. Nonetheless; as I have stated before the breakdown of the family has no doubt had a domino affect since it began 2 generations ago leading us eventually to where we are at present.
To make a general point; the enemy uses weaknesses in character; and a dependent society to lull everyone to sleep and have conveniences to keep us fed (often too much so as we see record obesity today); as well as providing all our needs using modern technology to trap everyone and get them used to a cashless society; and we know what Revelation says is coming next. In the next posting I will attempt to get into more detail on the prophetic to come
When Jesus was on earth, as He healed and forgave sins He told them to "go and sin no more". Once you surrender your life totally (with heart mind and soul) to God, He will send you the comforter (Holy Spirit) that will work in and through you to help you do what God ask of you. John 14:15,16 says. "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;".
I like to look at it this way.
The penalty is death.
Hebrews 9:22
Romans 6:23
The penalty wasn't forgiven it was pay for. Mark 10:45.
Also.
Romans 5:8-10 reads "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
When we recieved Christ as savior we were baptized into his death and justified by the resurrection of Christ.
Blessings.
Point One - Romans 14:5,6
You referred to comments from Romans 14:5,6 where it seems to say that it makes no difference to God which days we keep holy. Actually, these verses do not concern any days that must be kept holy. This is proved by the context of the entire chapter.
The Bible elsewhere teaches very plainly which days God made Holy and commands us to keep holy. They are found inGenesis 2:2,3, Exodus 20:8-11 and Leviticus 23.
Point 2 - "Sabbath" in Strongs Concordance
There were 116 verses containing the "Sabbath". I found one in Col 2:16 that mentioned "sabbath days" which is talking about feast days from the Mosiac law written by Moses.
Point 3 - You said the "Lord is my Sabbath".
I didn't find any reference in the whole Bible that says we can just ignore the 7th day Sabbath of the Lord and call it "the Lord is my Sabbath". This seems to be a way out when you can't find Bible texts to false doctrine.
Point 4 - Sabbath in different time zones - come at different times.
That is a weak argument. The point I would make is that when the 7th day Sabbath arrives in whatever time zone, then it should be observed. This would be the fulfillment of God's requirements. Ex 20:12, John 14:15,16
Point 5 - Using parts of scripture instead of all to make a point.
I myself use the texts in context ( 2 Tim 3:16,17)). If you indeed have an open mind about what to actually know that God has for you in His word the Bible, He will send the Holy Spirit to interpret it for you, so you will understand what He expects from you.
Conclusion:
Most friends keep all 9 , call themselves Christians. I keep all 10, they call me legalistic! The Bible say I love the Lord. LOVE GOD + GRACE + FAITH = ETERNAL LIFE
The four gospels delineate the Word in his four aspects. The same we shall see in the vision of St John.
vv.2-3 "And, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne./ And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald."
'like a jasper stone, a sardine stone. The Word was God. Father Son relationship is set in terms of stones while the rainbow round about the throne define the Word or Law of the Spirit.
v.5 "And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God." Voice of the Lord refers to the Word which was God. We come across the same line before the POV is changed. "and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail."(Rev.11.19) next in Rev.16.18 "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake,"
Finally the 24 elders and four beasts together form the body God has set and it is the Word which was with God, The seven Spirits of God presented in v.5 is presented in the next chapter as well so the slain Lamb as in the will of God embodies the Word which was with God.(Rev.5.6) These voices, thunders and lightening reappear separately as in Mt.24.7 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." The voice cries,"Come up hither." Compare, "And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them./ And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven." Rev.11-13. The Spirit of life from God entered into them.
2nd Cor. 5:19 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
God, through Christ's work on the cross, chose not to hold the world's sins against them.
Instead of charging humanity's trespasses to their account, He provided reconciliation-peace and restoration-through Christ. This does not mean everyone is automatically saved, but it means the barrier of sin has been dealt with once for all. The message entrusted to Paul and those who preach the gospel of grace is to announce this reconciliation: that forgiveness is already secured at the cross, and by faith in Christ's finished work, individuals enter into that reconciliation personally.
In short: the cross removed sin as a barrier, we are already forgiven of every sin past-present and future and the gospel invites all to receive the gift of justification/salvation by believing, with nothing else being required for salvation.
Grace and Peace.
There is a world of difference between being equal before the law and making something equal in law .
If you make equal in law what is not equal in fact in reality in very truth you have to allintents and purposes made a lie equal tothe truth in law .
If you justify in law what is not justifiable in principle or practice you have corrupted the law . If you deny the mountain of evidence that proves you are wrong but which by your law you seek to justify and say is right you have not only corrupted the law but by the denial of all that irrefutable perverted the cause of Justice .What has this all to do with the Law ?
Just because you use the same word Law does not always mean your speaking about the same thing .
When Hitler spoke of peace you can be sure his idea of peace was nothing likecN Chamberlains idea of peace . The tragedy was he seemed to want peace at any price ,such A peace is not peace at all and always has a bill at the end no one can afford .
The same with "works" . James is talking about works of faith . Paul in the main talks about works of the law so we must be clear about what is being talked about .
So likewise the Law .
There are the laws of man and there are the laws of God .
Man can by his corrupt and perverted ideas of democracy may enable laws that contradict the laws of God but man's laws will not protect him from the consequences of breaking Gods laws . For the first commandment ( or law) of Humanism is the vain assertion that " Man has the right to life" Anabsurd assertion that denies the very simple truth that a " man's life is in his nostrils" but which stripped of all its hubris and empty promise basically says ' No matter what evil I do no evil will come'.
If we take the laws of physics they are greater than man for man did not invent them nor can he undo them and if he wished to benefit from them he must obey or conform to its principles .
Take for instance the law of aero dynamics by which all planes are able to fly . Be they bi planes of WW1 or a jumbo jet . Man can by his 'democracy' say we " don't do God" nor need His laws we will build a plane according to our laws and according to our liking.Man has the ,liberty to do so but in rejection of Gods laws he will not have the liberty to fly .
English Law is funded upon biblical law which states ' All men are free to do any good they find or mind to do ,but they are not at liberty to do evil and which is contrary to law . Thus all men are free from the law and good has no limitations. European law is founded upon Roman law which at root states 'All men are at liberty to do what the State allows but is forbidden to do what it does not . Thus under Roman law all are bound by the Law ,and good and evil is determined by the State which governs the what good can be done .
This nation of the UK has exchanged the truth for a lie our liberties for bondage and our true Christian heritage for a " mess of pottage".
There is a world of difference between being equal before the law and making something equal in law .
To be continued:
Let's have a discussion about the sins of mankind-when and how are they forgiven.
What saith the scripture?
Grace and Peace.
Thank you for your input. Years ago a pastor I respected deeply once told me, "If you can control the money, you can control the people." Looking back, I realize how wrong that was. Any pastor or preacher who demands that God's people pay tithes seems more focused on money and control than truth. Twisting Scripture, adding to it, or removing from it to meet one's own needs does not make it so. Scripture shows we are under grace, not law, and giving should be from the heart, not a requirement enforced from the pulpit. To make tithing mandatory feels more like a money grab than genuine ministry. I appreciate your thoughts and the chance to share openly.
Grace and Peace
"Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created."(Gen.5.2)
The Spirit repeats what is entered in the Covenant (Gen.1.26) for a valid reason. The Law of the Spirit recognizes man but in his Son. Male and female created he them is with reference to the godhead and not to any specific name. Not so with generations of Adam which includes sons of Adam from first to last. Here God gives him a name Adam which follows the same 'male and female aspect' and says, further ,he blessed them. This establishes union between man and woman, as corollary to it marriage as an institution. Adam covers both while Adam names Eve, Second aspect is they are one flesh, referring to the body as an inheritance. Thus the sister-spouse conundrum of Abram and Sarai arises. faith of Adam and Eve is their individual DNA having the stamp,'male and female' aspect in the godhead.
They were created in the day establishes the Law being extant so Jesus says, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." ( Jn 9.4). By the same token 'I am the light of the world' places him as the embodiment of the Law. He works with the Father as one so the sign of two 'great' lights shall judge the world. " And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good." The Word was God, the word was with God, Man and the Law alike were part of Jesus of Nazareth. Of the last Jesus himself would confess "For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end."(Lk.22.37) He as the Law sent 70 other disciples which refers to everlasting gospel and it is valid. Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever.
As the Word become flesh he chose 12 disciples. He did the will of his Father. ( Jn 5.19-20)
But while primarily so it is not exclusively so for " all scripture is good for "
And a study and long meditation on the tabernacle would be no loss of time either .
In our approach to God and in prayer .
If Levi was in the loins if Abraham being a Jew then on the same principle I was in the loins of Adam being a none Jew.
And as Paul adequately ( where I may not) shows that Malchezidech speaks of Christ who has not only become our high priest but has replaced that which was temporary and of the flesh in a tabernacle made with hands . But made after the patterning heaven . But Paul shows in Romans and Hebrews and elsewhere that as both Hew and gentile are both " sold unto sin" and that all have sinned then these under the law are judged accirding to the law and those without are judged without the law . But still proves with or without all are guilty before God .
And then shows that righteousness which is not of the law but by faith pointing to Abraham . Who while uncircumcised was counted righteous because he believed God .
God treats both Jew and Gentile the same but shows how righteous God is and that man has no excuse for wether by the law or without all have sinned . (In truth man cannot keep his own law .)
The answer from God is the same for both . Faith in Jesus Christ .
In truth while at the moment some Jews are saved the most still have a veil over their face blinding them from the truth .
But there is coming a day when the Lord will save them in a day ( even as old in Egypt) and "They shall see Him who thry had priced " and does not Paul in Ephesians(?) speak of make if "Twain one new man in Christ" ?
Spiritually then Does not God deal with all men the same? And will judge all by Christ?
Is it not written that "Noah found grace in Gods sight "?
It has always been by grace that anyone was and is saved .
The Law as Paul so clearly teaches was there to convict of sin . Not to justify the righteous .( Romans).
Concerning the Law and Grace ,you misunderstand me. I do not mix them up .
When Jesus was baptised did He not say " that he might fulfil all righteousness"?
There are only two forms of righteousness in the Bible that I know of .
That which is of the law and that which is by faith .
If then a person is baptised what does he fulfil?
Indeed he is conforming to Christ and laying the foundation of " presenting his body a living sacrifice" but he is also fulfilling the law of righteousness that is by faith .
For though we are if BORN again no.onger under the law of sin and death we are under the higher law of Christ .
As such as now children of obedience rather than children of " disobedience" we get baptised by the law of love .
But in doing so we also UPHOLD the Law . Jesus fulfilled it by dying for sin . We uphold it by being "crucified with Him" and in baptism being " buried with Him" for by the same law of Christ we are also raised together with Him ."
I say again while we cannot keep the law we do uphold the law and in doing so justify God .
Abel by his offering confessed his sin the righteousness of God and his faith in the coming Promise .
So his offering found respect in Gods eyes . Cains did not .
By presenting our bodies to God it is no great thing it is but our " reasonable service" in the light of what God in Christ has done for us .
Fir it cost God everything to give us something for nothing. To all who receive such a gift it will cost us everything to keep it .
GB
God has brought things about whereby as it was in the beginning as in the garden of Eden so it is now . That when Jesus said He "came not to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved " Also said I do not judge you but my Words will judge you in that day " and in another place " This is the condemnation the Light has come but men love darkness more than the light" . And in another place " they are condemned already for they have not believed.."
The sin in the garden of Eden was of " disobedience" not be.believing Gods Word but believing another message .
"By one mans disobedience all die.."
God has not changed He is the same yesterday today and forever . But now we " obey the gospel". And are we not drawn to obey Gods Word? Made flesh not out of fear but as it shouid be out of love .
The trouble with Adam was he loved Eve more than God and obeyed her rather than God .
Thus when an unrepentant sinner who has rejected Christ is cast out into outer darkness . For eternity When Adam sinned he was cast out of the garden and barred from the tree of life . But was shown mercy not only by given a covering but even more so of a Promise .that wouid restore mankind we are Mankind not a fish kind a dog kind or some sort of ape kind for every seed brings forth fruit after its own kind .
Cains offering was rejected because he did not follow the pattern God had laid down in the garden ( and of blessing) but sought by his own 'good' works to establish his own righteousness and thus denied Gods .
In every respect then anyone who enters eternity without Christ is undone without hope and will be eternally separated from God . That would be hell then .
For if you reject the mercy of God what is there left but judgement? And if you reject the love of God is there left only condemnation?
"There is no repentance in the grave" though some religionists say other wise . But it is better to believe God than it is to be.I've another
The Word was God. Fellowship of God with Man is not simply one entity but his fulness which when consider God as the Father and Son has its own characteristics. It is thus the Word in its multiplicity of forms become associated with Jesus. He is anointed with oil of gladness. Ps.45 is not simply about any king but of God. The word of God states of man, 'Male and female he created them) man'. So how shall we interpret this line," So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him." (45.11) This refers to the bride of Christ. Here is another instance,"The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,/And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come." (Mt.22.1-2) The Word is employed in comparing heaven with the earth. Parable is a literary form but the Law of the Spirit sets it Person specific. Fellowship of God with Man includes the earth which is given to his Son by a decree. The parable of the marriage refers to the bride of Christ and those who refused to come. They are enemies to Christ.
When God decreed, "Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee./Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."(Ps.2.7-8) The bride concept is signified by 'inheritance'. Adam was allowed to name His creation by the virtue that God had named his Son that gave Adam the garden his 'inheritance' and it serves as dry run. Parable of the city on a hill we may set in context. By the same token who are enemies to Christ. They refused the king anointed and set on the holy hill of Zion. Why did the nation of Israel reject Jesus of Nazareth.we have the context, In 1 Sam.8.7 we read,'but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them." So the Father promises his Son, "Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."
Jesus who of God has become wisdom for us. "Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God."(1 Cor.1.24,30)
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Gen.1.26) In this context we shall understand why. The Law implies the same two principles in the godhead was, namely Power and Wisdom. The correct interpretation is God created man in our image and after our likeness that includes the word which was with God.. Illustration of which in the creation Eve from one of the ribs taken from man. Then the bride of Christ was in the will of God.So what is the significance of 'male and female created he them' It underpins the emblem 'the slain Lamb, and 'as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes,'(Rev,5,6) is just as valid.
Coming back to the topis Jesus as the rock of offence' validates the Word which was with God. Wisdom the female principle in the godhead declares, "The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way," and before the hills were brought forth.(Pro.8.22-25) That spiritual rock was Christ. "And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."( 1 Cor.10.4) The Sermon in Mt ch.5 required no name. It is the Law that provided the backdrop,"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him." (Mt.5.1) Once again, a high mountain referring to what is in store for the blessed,"And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,/ And was transfigured before them."(Mt.17.1-2)"I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was."(8.23) Gospels present Jesus Christ in his fulness,"For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." As the Word which was with God, " And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.(Col.2,9;1.17)
Gospels as set forth in the God document is determined by God. It pleased the Father that in Jesus Christ all his fullness should dwell. So fulness of time is settled by him. The name Jesus is from God, " And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins./Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet."(Mt.1.21-22) When God created man naming His creation was left to him. It was on the premise that Adam was created in 'our image and after our likeness.' God blessed them( man and woman) 'and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth'.Consequently names of His creation were deigned to his glory and authority. In short this authority was devolved from both Father and Son. The Holy Spirit makes a distinction by choosing the name for his Son. He is man in human likeness and has a body subject to pain and hunger. But the name establishes the truth where he came from.
The number of gospels is not based on the authorship of names. It is four to establish the sovereignty of the Word which is the Law. North south east west the Law is the same. It is from the Law of the Spirit, which makes Jesus Christ as its fulfilment so Jesus would declare, 'Before Abraham was,I am."(Jn.8.59) So generation of Jesus is determined by the Law of Gradation. Jesus the nam is the son of Abraham and of David. These speak only with regards to the flesh. All the names given in the genealogy therefore is graded in terms of light and darkness. This is the reason the Spirit of God appended Gen.1.2-4. It is on the basis of light and darkness before giving us the Covenant. (Mt.1.1)
The Word which was with God explains such natural features as rock."And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken"(Mt.21.44) Commentary is found in Pro.8.
It is my perception that the Church has not been true & vigilant to the Scriptures nor deeply concerned about this matter before her congregants by not addressing it correctly and fully. I ask myself, 'when was the last time I heard anything about this subject from the pulpit'? Rather, a superficial stance is adopted, i.e. 'if the Bible declares something then as Christians, we must adopt it'. How many children attending their Sunday School are taught the Decalogue, to recite it, and the need to obey it? I know I was and I accepted it without question.
Rather than correctly understanding the nature of the commandment, those to whom it was given, and the repercussions for disobedience, the Church has glibly avoided this core instruction that differentiates between the Law given to Israel and the Grace we have in Christ, but for 'safety sake', encourages all believers to embrace both together. As the Apostle Peter (referring to those who compelled the followers of Christ to be circumcised and to keep the Law of Moses), declared in Acts 15:10, "Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" To our credit, we love to emphasize correctness in 'dividing the Scriptures'; yet in this very important matter, we gloss over it without realizing the seriousness of it and the wider implications pressing upon believers' understanding of the Word and the liberty and grace we now enjoy. We should never be led by the Law's strict demands & penalties, rather by the gracious Work of the Holy Spirit in each of our lives. GBU.
Regarding you comment here...
"To the unrepentant sinner it is a judgement unto condemnation and damnation."
Can you expound on this please?
christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law
grace and peace
Mixing law with grace confuses God's distinct dealings with Israel and the Body of Christ. The law, given at Sinai, was conditional and based on obedience ( Exod. 19:5-6). Grace is a free gift through Christ, "not of works, lest any man should boast" ( Eph. 2:8-9). Paul makes the contrast sharp: "if it be of works, then is it no more grace" ( Rom. 11:6). The two operate on opposite principles. The law says, "Do this and live" ( Lev. 18:5; Gal. 3:12), while grace says, "Believe and live" ( Rom. 4:5). If righteousness could come by law, then Christ's death was unnecessary ( Gal. 2:21).
The results also differ. The law reveals sin and brings condemnation ( Rom. 3:19-20), while grace brings justification, peace, and reconciliation ( Rom. 5:1; 2 Cor. 5:19). To mix them is to reintroduce guilt where liberty should reign. Law was given to Israel as part of their covenant program ( Deut. 4:8). Grace forms the Body of Christ, where there is neither Jew nor Gentile and where believers are "not under the law, but under grace" ( Rom. 6:14; Gal. 3:28). Combining them blurs Israel's earthly promises with the Body's heavenly calling.
Paul opposed such mixture when Peter withdrew from Gentile fellowship under pressure from law-keepers, saying he walked not "uprightly according to the truth of the gospel" ( Gal. 2:14). Paul insists believers are dead to the law by the body of Christ ( Rom. 7:4-6).
To return is to forfeit assurance, for the law demanded continual obedience, but Christ's one offering has perfected forever those who are sanctified ( Heb. 10:10-14). The law was holy and good, yet its purpose was to expose man's need. Grace supplies the answer in Christ. To mingle them destroys clarity and robs believers of the freedom and assurance God intends.

Hello Gerald,
The writer of Hebrews shows that Melchizedek's priesthood is greater than Levi's. Abraham, Israel's patriarch, acknowledged Melchizedek's superiority by giving him tithes ( Gen. 14:18-20). Since Levi descended from Abraham, he is considered still "in the loins" of Abraham when this occurred. Therefore, if Abraham honored Melchizedek, then Levi-and the entire Levitical system-is inferior to the Melchizedekian order ( Heb. 7:9-10, 17).
Hebrews was written with Israel in view, not the Body of Christ. The Levitical system was given to Israel alone under the Law. The comparison in Hebrews urges Jews to see that Christ's priesthood after Melchizedek surpasses Levi's. By contrast, the Body of Christ has no temple priesthood, no tithes, and no Mosaic obligations. We live under grace, with Christ as our heavenly Head and Intercessor ( Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 2:18).
The "in the loins" expression illustrates Israel's corporate identity. God often counts descendants as participating in the acts of their forefathers (cf. Rom. 5:12-19 with Adam). This covenantal reasoning belongs to Israel's heritage. Paul, however, never uses this logic for the Church. Instead, he teaches believers are placed "in Christ" ( 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 1:3-13)-a spiritual union distinct from Abrahamic lineage.
Thus Hebrews 7 shows Israel's Levitical priesthood is subordinate to Christ's Melchizedekian priesthood. The Body of Christ does not trace its standing through Abraham or Levi, but rests in Christ's finished work revealed through Paul's gospel. This was part of Israel's transition from the Mosaic order toward Mystery promises, while our identity is already secured in heavenly places.
A side note: James writes, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all" ( Jas. 2:10). He addressed "the twelve tribesscattered abroad" ( Jas. 1:1). Therefore, if someone binds himself to the tithe law, he becomes debtor to the whole law.

Four gospels in the entire narrative prove that we are complete in Christ but what does it pitch beyond the earth to kingdom come? The woman who anointed Jesuswith the precious spikenard was 'everyman' who encapsulated the Covenant in seven days. This nameless woman proved for all time the mystery of the will of God the Father, the fellowship of God with Man.
"That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ"(v.12) Here in vv.13-14 what salvation would mean: "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,/Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. "Dispensationalist may want to be like the proverbial dog turning to his vomit, but the Holy Spirit is clear. Our inheritance is iin the light for which we have been sealed.
Jesus warned,"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."(Mt.6.21) God fashioned all hearts alike but trieth their works. In terms of your treasure is a manifestation if it is full of light or twilight. "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light./But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"
Entering into the God's rest is no sweat."But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." (Jn.3.21) Without abiding in Christ what possible work of enduring quality can you do? "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."(Mt.6.21-24)
God sent his perfect gift who having conquered death is the captain of our salvation." crown of life"
Intro. There has been a lot of upheavals lately as some well known pastors have fallen into sin; or their doctrines errant; and even more prevalent is the gray zone of associations with individuals who clearly speak false doctrines or are clearly with intent for greedy gain.
A church; as we see from Biblical example had a structure where elders and Deacons in particular would work within a local congregation in order to oversee; delegate responsibility and help with shepherding of the flock. Today it appears that the pastor; reverend or whatever the title is is the only one really recognized; with the possible exception of the funeral of a well known minister when eulogies are read; for example.
When we compare this heirarchy with the world system; we should in theory see vast differences; but sadly in many mainline denominations today it is hard to tell the uniqueness from the world. Expectations of hobnobbing with the rich and famous have more often than not caused friendship with the world beyond that which Christ espoused; which in short is any associations that are not for the main purpose of proclaiming scriptural truth and not fellowshipping with anyone calling themselves Christian who don't adhere to lifestyles that are Godly. Then there are known networks of those in guilds; societies and other associations that are tied into the economic world system; tax free perks that force compromise in what is preached and those within attending conferences which have caused well known and established congregations of formerly solid doctrinal adherents to slowly allow spurious doctrines to come into the church.
The political establishment which is often literally tied in with this political correctness is embraced as though they are all friends of the truth rather than being told the truth; as what happened with Andrew Jackson apparently.
Who will count the cost today?

For was not Paul praying for us Christian's who know the Lord and are BORN again that " the eyes of our understanding might be opened that we might see and comprehend what is the exceeding great and mighty power that is towards us who believe . Even the same mighty power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead".
Make no mistake if you are truly BORN again you have already tasted of that resurrection life for " we who were dead in trespasses and in sin have been quickened together with Him when Jesus was raised from the dead .
But Paul was praying for us who are now chiodren of light that we ,yiu,me might have the eyes of our understanding enlightened " Now Paul in another letter wrote of desiring to be "made conformable to His death" and in another place that he might know the power of His resurrection".
Now if Paul was so desirous and felt the need of both how much more should we be?
I wouod suggest both because how can you know the piwer of a resurrection unless you are dead?
You don't hear many preach about being made conformable to His death . Yet the cross is the power of God unto Salvation .
Have we not reduced this so great a Salvation to being but BORN again? Wonderful though that is .That is but getting out of Egypt and the dominion of Pharaoh.
Not only are we saved from but also saved to or for .
The wilderness was intended to be boot camp not the Christian norm .
Do we not stand in grace but also have access to more grace?
Having eyes but see not refers to seeing but not understanding what we are seeing . Hearing but not understanding what we are hearing and we need to pray that zGod Almighty might open our eyes and give us understanding of the provision of God that is in. Christ . It is like dis over ing America landing on the beautiful beach. The weather is wonderful , the sea full of fish and the tree line full of food and we have said this is perfect ,wonderful and have pitched our tents .
When Lazerus was Ill and dying and Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus to come quickly the scriptures specifically says Jesus loved both Mary and Martha yet " when he heard that he was sick abode two days where he was .
When Jesus arrived Lazarus had been dead for 4 days and "now stinketh" For corruption enters the body after 3 days.
When Martha heard the Lord was near she went out to meet him . Mary was still in the house . You might argue that while Martha rushed out to meet Jesus Mary sat still in the house .
Be that as it may Martha's faith was in the past ." Lord if thou hast been here Lazarus would not have died".
Mary's faith was in the future . " I know that thou will raise him up at the resurrection (?)"
Faith does not work in the past nor does it work in the future but always works in the NOW.
Jesus replied " I am the resurrection and the Life".
Gidion had heard of God and of His great works in times gone by and believed . But was meditating where was God now? In the prevailing circumstances of Isreals distress .While his thoughts drew him near to God ,God drew near to him. And once the lines of communication had been established things began to change for the better and Isreal got a revival .
Job had heard of God .So too Moses both believed but " Jesus had not yet come" so to speak .
When the disciples were struggling in the boat bailing out the water it is written " Jesus had not yet come" . He was up in the mountain and could see them plainly . What is our expectation? I'm not talking about the rapture that is in some future though not too distant. Have we but heard of Him but our eyes have never seen Him?
"It is raised a spiritual body."
Jesus made of woman has a natural body but being anointed it is the Word become flesh, and all other attributes of the word which is Law being present. "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."(Jn.8.29)
"And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,/ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor." Jesus meant the poor in spirit. This is made clear in the house of Bethany. She broke the alabaster box because she was poor in spirit. " For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always./For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial."(Mt.26.11-13)
This memorial is as valid as this body holds a memorial in heaven so the 24 elders and four beast signify," And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."(Rev.5.10). As a book end to it we have this body anointed by a woman whose pure spirit, by faith anointed the Son of man. "Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her." It is how the Spirit has settled on the death and resurrection of Jesus from four gospels so the risen Christ is anointed for the spiritual body 'God hath prepared me.'
In his prayer he makes it clear that glory was his, "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do./And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." But it made the extent of the body reach its fullest expression by his death and resurrection. We have another embalmementin Jn.19.39-40) It was ' as the manner of the Jews is to bury.'
