Please check back in an hour or more. Thank you for your patience!
I will be keeping the Gaza situation in prayer. It is a big deal and we can hope that God can bring a resolve and peace as an outcome in His timing.
I have prayed for you and these requests.
What a good report about your co-worker! May the Lord bless him in every spiritual way unto salvation and growth in Christ.
I will pray that all goes well for your trip to your cabin.
I have read your post and it seems that you have misconstrued what most Calvinists believe and have mixed up Calvinism with those of Wesleyan and Holiness persuasion (who are not Calvinists) believe about achieving sinless perfection in this life.
Neither do Calvinists believe or teach that man does not have free will, but that man has a sinful nature that deprives them of choosing to turn to God, that mankind in its sinful, deadness, will always refuse to seek after God, repent, or obey God's call to faith in the gospel.
And lastly, some Calvinists do teach and believe in a limited atonement-that Jesus died to save only the elect. Others do believe in universal atonement-that His death and sacrifice for sin was sufficient to save any and all persons, but since only those who are elected before creation for salvation will indeed be drawn to Jesus by the Father, those not elected will die in their sin because they were not given grace and mercy to turn to God and that these freely choose to live in rebellion against God until their death.
I would suggest that you do some research on Calvinism by those who teach and believe in it's tenets and then do an honest critique of what is actually believed by them. It seems that you are repeating misrepresentations of Calvinistic beliefs you heard from others who reject it as being deceptive.
Also, I would suggest that you present positively what you believe and how it may differ from actual teachings from Calvinists, most often calling themselves "Reformed".
I appreciate your fervor for truth from Scripture and I encourage you to hold up what Reformed believers actually present as their doctrines to Scriptures. I know it is difficult to approach this topic in an open minded way, so I would suggest that you do so prayerfully and humbly with an teachable attitude.
Whether or not you have a change of mind, it is in the "mind of Christ" to be charitable to those you disagree with, even strongly.
There are 3 things that seem to be happening to factor in at one time for the famine.
1) Israel and the stoppage for several months of all shipments of food
2) Hamas and other terror groups that steal food and
3) The UN decisions and lack of efforts in the matter.
I may have covered this already; but the sad truth is that those who can get food are the stronger ones; while kids often alone don't end up with much.
As to those who are being killed the fact that over 200 journalists have died in these strikes begs the question just how many of them actually were aiding and abetting terrorists. It seems all sides have some responsibility and guilt here for this stuff continuing.
To compound matters we all have to balance what is promised eventually to Israel during the Millennial period and to how just or unjust it is for them to initiate aggression. There is no doubt that there are those culpable who want to use starvation as a weapon and others who will help those in need if an invasion occurs. In my mind although it may be a minority opinion taking over the area at least will temporarily allow some to finally get what is needed. The sad truth is no other nations have wanted these people and plans to send them to South Sudan (or Somalia I forget) won't be too great either.
No doubt we are nearing the covenant with "death and hell" mentioned in Isaiah 28:15. Ultimately the situation will compel Israel to accept the Daniel 9:27 covenant; which could be soon or later once they get more control of surrounding nations; perhaps with the Psalm 83 situation involved in the nations mentioned in a soon to come conflagration.
Seeing there isn't much choice we should continue to pray for our President; and yes I'm aware that things are in motion with individuals in high places and we don't know what to believe much of the time. We all need to pray about how much or little to watch the headlines. We must warn to flee the wrath coming
Did Jesus die for all, yes or no?
1 John 2:2 says YES
John 3:16 says YES
1 Timothy 2:4-6 says YES
2 Corinthians 5:14 says YES
Romans 10:13 says YES
1 John 4:14 says YES
But Calvinists say NO
Scripture saying Jesus did NOT die for all:
[none]
The Word of God says Jesus died for "all" and the "whole world" and "everyone" in those verses above. All means all, and the whole world means the whole world, and everyone means everyone. But cult teachings will try to twist this and say all does NOT mean all, and the whole world does NOT mean the whole world, and everyone does NOT mean everyone. It's like the serpent in the Garden of Eden who said you shall NOT surely die. It's obvious who is on what side by how they either affirm or denounce the scripture.
Those who disobey and intentionally deceive others from the truth put themselves in grave danger of God's wrath.
The 2nd big lie told by some is that people don't have freewill to do anything whatsoever. Some contradict themselves by saying they still sin but isn't their fault, while others say they don't sin at all and are perfect like Jesus, an obvious lie that 1 John 1:8 makes clear. Verses like Joshua 24:15 that say for you to choose (Calvinists deny this means you're not choosing) or for you to open the door (Calvinists deny this means you're opening the door) Revelation 3:20 , John 7:17.
The biggest lie I hear many say about others- they claim others are trying to EARN their own salvation. That lie is straight from Satan. They know its a lie but will spread it anyway. They know that 99% of Christians believe in grace and believe it is a gift, not earned. But just because they believe God gave them a gift of choice like Joshua 24:15 says, they suddenly claim their motives are to "earn" heaven. So dishonest. Beware of wolves!
I'm going to try to get to that rural property this weekend; I'd rather not but with work; Awana and other obligations this month it looks like the only time I can do it. Just want to get rid of some open fiberglass; mop and use an HVAC. May try to sleep there one night or just get there early AM and leave that same evening. Where I am going it will be downright cold this time down in the 40s at night and 60 during the day with this unusual arctic airmass.
I am glad to see once again evidences here of answered prayer. I do believe some are more gifted than others; but the discipline of prayer for others in large numbers I believe the Lord honors. Thanks for those sharing.
Agape; RIch P
I do keep you in prayer often.
Please know that our Lord hears our prayers and is our mediator for us to the Father, who listens to the Son and grants what He asks for o our behalf.
Hello again! Yes, I do believe we are thinking of the same group, the same group that claims that Peter was the rock that the church would be built upon. They also claim that Peter was the first Pope and that all Popes in succession are Vicars (Substitutes) of Christ on this earth. However, scripture does support their claims, and Peter never made any such claim for himself.
God Bless!!!
I grew up in a poor family with 10 children. My parents worked very hard and sacrificed tremendously to support us. We had a big garden ad every summer my Mom canned and canned and canned. We helped her in ways she asked us to help, whether harvesting, prepping vegetables and fruits, filling jars, or keeping watch over the pressure canner.
My Dad to charge of prepping the garden, planting, weeding, and all. We all helped with this, too.
We also gleaned from people who had extra produce.
My parents were very resourceful and frugal, so we were graced by their hard work and commitment to us being fed well. We didn't often order out from restaurants, and meals were primarily from scratch, which we helped prepare and cook.
So, I learned most of my skills from my parents and I am thankful for having been expected to help out. I learned to cook from my early teens onward. My Dad gave me a second-hand pressure canner for graduation. I still have and use it after 50 years!
I don't make jelly as my husband and I are diabetic, so we just by sugar free jars when we need it. We don't use jelly much.
If I had berries growing in my yard I would probably do some jam/jelly for others and a little for us, but mostly we prefer fresh berries and fruit.
I am hoping to expand my raised beds as we redo our backyard landscape. Hope to plant raspberries and a few blueberry bushes. As we are able to put together more of these beds I can grow more vegetables that will keep us in these foods for the summer and fall and then to can or freeze some for winter.
I love having the time now to grow this food. When I was teaching, I did not have time to do this. So, I do a lot of dirt therapy now with flowers that I grow in pots.
We hope to have the front and back yards redone and refreshed by the end of next fall, the Lord willing. Then we can enjoy it for the remainder of our days here with the hard work being done up front.
That's great, I like making jams but they only last about 6 weeks. Did you learn it from your family or did you learn it on your own.
"And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."
1 Peter 5:6-7
"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
Blessings
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas./ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly;
Here we have Jesus in his humanity and he doubles for Jonah as he is the Son of man. As the Word which was with God Jonah was entrusted with the word of God. So he was sanctified by the word of truth. 'Thy word is truth' Jesus confesses in his prayer. ( Jn 17.17) Jonah would be under judgment had he abandoned his task fearing the enormity of it. It was God who first trusted in him. 'Is there anything impossible for God'. Had he left off in the middle the burden of Nineveh would be his, Thus we have a question of judgment here implied. In this context what is the significance of day and night as mentioned in this clause, "so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth,"?
The answer is found in the day Four of the Covenant , where we have the symbol of two great lights: the lesser light rules over the night. (Gen.1.18-19)
" And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good./And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
As far as I know, there is only one religious group that falsely interprets Matthew 16:18 and uses this verse as the basis for their supposed authority over all other churches.
The Sabbath is Saturday.
God bless.
I was surprised to read that this was your seven-year old son writing, since I believe that this Site's policy forbids underage people from doing so. Nevertheless, my advice was simply based on this person's desire as very briefly declared in his statement, without any additional information to go by. As well, if my own child came to me declaring that same desire to teach the Bible and spread the Gospel, I would have responded exactly as you did: to encourage him in his growth in the Lord, to be aware and careful as he begins his schooling, to study well and be a witness to the other kids telling them Who this great God is, of His Son, and the marvel of so great salvation. You are indeed blessed as his Dad, to raise such a little one with such a strong desire and to watch him grow to love the Lord even more. May God's Spirit lead him, keeping him close to Himself, and use him for His Glory. Blessings to you and yours.
Specifically; of course the Ukraine and Israel situation is emphasized in the media but I'm sure there are other wars; particularly in the African theater which are still going on. Today our Pastor mentioned the statistics from Nigeria which are mind numbing as to the killing of believers and destruction of churches. If I need to cover that I will do that on another post.
Humanly speaking there has been a massive attempt to give humanitarian assistance but little is distributed in the Gaza situation.
Israel is blamed; although clearly the UN and Muslims in Gaza refusing any aid from those considered subhuman species makes the situation exponentially worse. Certainly we should pray that those seeking the Lord will find Him before its too late and that somehow situations will change; perhaps through the plans for invasion to stop this problem.
As to Ukraine we haven't seen evidence of starvation; but the government statistics say 1.7 million there are dead because of the war and a number of Russians can be added to the list. I will contemplate whether I should post this situation more frequently perhaps daily on this site in the light of what's going on of late; such as 500 that we know of killed with the latest attack where supplies were concentrated in barracks in a certain city there.
Overall; it seems that in that case anyhow fighting is useless. Jesus didn't upbraid soldiers for their position; but of course there are reminders of not taking up civilian affairs as to the scriptural analogy of us being soldiers for Christ ( 2 Timothy 2:4). Living peaceably with all men could also be a factor in such situations. Sadly the money involved with those in power is prolonging the situation. I certainly pray the conflagration won't expand to others who want to enter the theatre or else no doubt we will have the biggest war of casualties since last century.
Lord come soon.
Here we have a classic example of names which are the least of the concerns of the Holy Spirit. This is to indicate these names are set in relation to the name of Jesus Christ. (Phili.2.9) These two represent all the nations outside the world framed by the word of God. Whereas the holy city of God is unnamed. This is what the Law of the Spirit has separated for the Son. The transfiguration takes place on the seventh day. "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,/And was transfigured before them>"(Mt.17.1-2,6) The voice from heaven is heard to which Simon Peter in his epistle refers as the holy mount. "And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount."(2 Pet.1.18) These names stand against Jesus as the word become flesh. Gog and Magog are names associated with Satan. The Law on the other hand sets the sanctified ones associated with the holy city of God. They are the saints in the following passage:
"And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea./ And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
The beloved city is Zion, "For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation./ This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it."(Ps.133.13-14) The believers who entered into the God's rest are part of the city, and it is established by God who names accordingly. Thus before Armageddon we shall see the battle simultaneously waged on the earth and in heaven. By concealing the crucial piece, the imposter churches make the beloved city to be Jerusalem and Israel as His chosen people. This lie is what Satan has taught the sons of Belial.
The Law of the Spirit orgainises all things,-events,names of places and persons in relation to Jesus Christ whose deity and humanity gives a centre to which heaven, the earth and lower parts shall fall to.
" For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:" (Col.1.16)
By the virtue of the Covenant in seven days, each man called and justified by faith is complete in himself because Christ abides in him. He has entered into the God's rest and his growth is in terms of faith and not of his own works. "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:/Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving"(Col.2.6-8)
This brings the nation of Israel into the Covenant. They were given laws and statutes and leader they chose for themselves, How they back slid, 'perpetual backsliding' as the prophets. forewarned. Thus the Holy Spirit organises the nations into light or darkness, "Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."(1.Cor.10.11)
" If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us"(2 Tim.2.12) Jesus as the word become flesh suffered and it is also an ensample. He obeyed the Word was God and also fulfilled the Law of the Spirit. This symbolism brings his walk in the day was as light of the world. Two great lights refers to his life as the light of the world. Having conquered death and as risen Christ he upholds all things by the word of his power. As the lesser light he shall rule the night. Day of regeneration gives the nation of darkness a kingdom and shall be judged by 12 apostles. He shall handover his kingdom, That God may be all in all.'
time!
Thank you.
This message on AI is the way I see
it also. Since God is a spirit. Those that
communicate with God needs to have
a spirit: be able to physically respond
to the FIVE senses given to
Mankind.
As a source of information, a library, AI maybe helpful.
It seems to me that only Humans can
receive the " revealed will of God Almighty."
I'm seeking more knowledge. This site
definitely has stirred up my spirit.
May God bless
Us all.
I concur with Brother Chris.
Divorce is not in the plan of God.
Our joining together in marriage is to model the relationship between Christ and his Church.
I believe this is emphasized in Ephesians 5:25-32,
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
THIS IS A GREAT MYSTERY: BUT I SPEAK CONCERNING CHRIST AND THE CHURCH.
I believe marriage is to communicate to us Christ commitment and relationship to the Church.
I believe the man in this relationship must be led and influenced daily by God's Spirit to walk accordingly in this union to lead as well as the woman to follow.
This is a work of God!
I suggest praying often for your husband to lead with the passion and unconditional love that is expected of God.
God bless.
The last line in the second para:
God's calling and gifts are irrevocable. Without the Law of the Spirit man is wresting from the word of God its marrow."
should be read as
"God's calling and gifts are irrevocable. Without the Law of the Spirit man is wresting from the word of God leaving its marrow out".
v.1 Covenants renewed at Sinai and Moah are vitiated by place names that render the covenant pendent to the Covenant where the Law has had a direct hand in establishing the Fellowship of God with Man: curse is implied on anyone who stops short at the day Six. The covenant is everlasting so heavenly blessings include the angels ' all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?' Heb.1.14)
The believer is outside his familial boundaries determined by flesh and blood or to the land which is irrelevant in the verity of the word. 'The earth and the fulness thereof belongs to God.' The land of Palestine is but a small part for God who promised his Son and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.' He is the heir of all things so the blessedness come from both heaven and the earth. His Son who figures as the Man in the Covenant of seven days," whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds." (Heb.1.2; Ps.2.8) God is looking in the part of Man one who is in our image and after our likeness. The Spirit makes this distinction clear in the genealogy of Adam,"and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth."(Gen.5.3.) In v.1 Adam was created in the image of God. In his fall man everywhere fell short of his glory. Hence the covenant with Israel specifies the blessing and curse in detail. God's calling and gifts are irrevocable. Without the Law of the Spirit man is wresting from the word of God its marrow.
v.28 Moses refers to the day decreed for the Son, "as it is this day." God has revealed through Jesus Christ,"If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin."( Jn 15.22)
29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us ".
With all due respect Mr. Spencer and others,
God did not Predestinate certain individuals to be saved BECAUSE He KNEW they would come to Him. This is what God KNEW about any and all of mankind, including you and me:
Romans 3:9-18 9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
God KNEW that NO ONE, let me say that again, NO ONE would come to Him apart from His Sovereign Mercy in PREDESTINATING a Remnant chosen by His Election of Grace, throughout time and throughout the World, to be saved. Why? because apart from God's action in salvation, we are ALL SPIRITUALLY DEAD and in Rebellion against God in Body and Soul.
Romans 9:14-16 14 What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Romans 9:22 [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Election=Hope! Praise God!
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years."
Here God sets us celestial lights in the firmament. The firmament declares the handiwork of God. What does the work of God signify, considering God is a Spirit. "Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?/Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."( Jn 6.28-29) This natural world was not created for itself. By his breath God garnished heavens or He framed the world with his word. The Pharisees who challenged Jesus with signs of the times his answer was quiet blunt: "4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign." Then as now. (Mt.16.1-4)
'By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens' which gives the two great lights their relevance. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Eccl.3.1) The natural lights serve as signs, but whichout addressing in terms of the the great lights mark a wicked and adulterous generation. The lesser light is to rule the night. In the new heaven and in new earth, there is no night." for there shall be no night there."(Rev.21.26b). The outer darkness is where those who are cursed go to. There was a season and a time under the heaven where they could have entered into the God's rest. They stopped short at Six, So come the day of regeneration, the 12 thrones are set up in heaven where new Jerusalem shall walk under the light of the Lamb. The darkness mentioned in Gen.1.2 shall continue 'forever.' "and darkness was upon the face of the deep." The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. This refers to the blessed. On the other hand darkness on the face of the deep refers to the outer darkness. The Jews and the leftbehing church shall form the mingled people mentioned in Ezra.9.2
