Romans 2:21-22 Reminds me of the old phrase "Practice what you preach". Don't be a hypocrite and tell some one to stop smoking and continue in your own addictions which demonstrates lack of self control.
  • Lilith is Hebrew for Screech Owl: Isaiah 34: 13-14 This knowledge is from Babylo on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.
The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. I shall stay true to his Word for it is truth.

In verse 10 joy does not come from the trial itself, but our successfully enduring the trial produces joy.
  • BSP on 2 Corinthians 6 - 9 years ago
Verse 2 is quoting Isaiah 49:8. Now is the especially acceptable time. We don't want to miss the purpose of God's undeserved kindness.
  • BSP on 1 Samuel 16 - 9 years ago
Jehovah God looks beyond outer appearances and he sees into the heart of man as verse 7 shows.
  • Lu2677 on Galatians 1 - 9 years ago
Did Moses,David,Abraham Isaac and Jacob, all the apostles,Ruth, etc;work by faith in the Lord, for the Lord, and to the Lord? Did Paul work for the Lord to the end of his life?Faith without works is dead faith. Then; within "faith"he is able to do good works, show fruits of the Spirit. "Not of works lest any man shall boast is referring to works prior to salvation, trying to DO works to gain His grace.

Hannah's circumstances had not changed in verse 18, but her viewpoint is what changed. We can choose to focus on the problem or we can focus on positive things like Hannah.
  • Lu2677 on 2 Samuel 7 - 9 years ago
"God loved David, because Christ is of David's lineage." So, is this reason God loved David?
  • BSP on Proverbs 15 - 9 years ago
Verse 15 brings out that if we see everything negatively then we will feel afflicted all day long. We need to try to have a positive viewpoint.
  • Lu2677 on Jeremiah 10 - 9 years ago
A reply to the comment;"God gives men free will to serve him or not, We have power OVER Him" In context Jeremiah 10:21-24;Verse 23, "O Lord I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walketh to direct his steps." The "way of man"=freewill. "Not in himself"=man does NOT have freewill. NOT in man to direct his own steps=man does not have freewill. "Power over Him" REALLY???
  • BSP on Numbers 13 - 9 years ago
Verses 30 through 33 show that the negative views of others can have a negative affect on us. Our associates and the way they think will have a big impact on our feelings and views.
  • BSP on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Verse 21 brings out that if we teach others, we must teach ourselves.
  • BSP on 1 Timothy 6 - 9 years ago
Verse 8 urges us to be content with the necessities of life. Food, shelter, and clothing.
  • BSP on Jeremiah 41 - 9 years ago
In verse 5 even though the men from Shechem, Shiloh, and Samaria were bringing offerings to the house of Jehovah, the practices of these men weren't fully in harmony with the law of Jehovah which is shown by the fact that they made cuts upon themselves. This practice was prohibited by the Law at Leviticus 19:28 and 21:5.

  • Librarygal143 on Matthew 21 - 9 years ago
Dear God, you know the requests of my heart as I pray to you. I am not asking for much, just to help my family. I do believe as I pray, and I know I shall receive, in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you, Heavenly Father, and please bless everyone. Thank you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.
  • Anne on Joshua 20 - 9 years ago
Places of refuge were to be established so that persons who committed this act unintentionally
could receive justice. God is a Just God.
  • Judit on Job 22 - 9 years ago
This message could not have come at a better time in my life. No more than about 30 minutes ago. In so many words, I said the same thing to my husband because there is so much negative energy in my circle, I had beckoned to using their negative energy spirit. Then I realized this morning, how God has been encircling with positive energy by allowing his angels to share with me how I have allowed them to use me and feed off of their energy, instead of God's energy. I have said things I have never said and acted in a way that was very inappropriate. I just thank love God our Lord Jesus Christ so much whereas I now feel His spirit again and have decided to acquaint myself again with God so that I can be at peace and achieve God's blessings as I do his will.

Bryan Katchay; Where do you get the idea that Saul was immediately Paul when he was converted? The Scriptures don't say that until many years after, when he was with the Brethren in Antioch. Also, the notion that he is the greatest man ever since Jesus, and that he alone is who we should follow, Paul would never agree to. "Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed,"
  • A disciple on Colossians 1 - 9 years ago
Additionally, Haven't you read the Prophets? or much of the Evangelists' Narratives? If the LORD could not communicate to people "before they're saved" how in the world could ANYONE ever get saved? How does one believe in Someone or something without any understanding? God is the Author of Order, and Intelligence, just as He is the Author and Creator of our souls, which He made in His image.
  • Lu2677 on Exodus 15 - 9 years ago
Exodus 15:3 "The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name" V.18. The LORD shall reign for ever and ever."V.26 (It was true then, it is true now). He is a "man of war." Romans 11:36 "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things; to whom be glory forever."
  • Chris P on John 7 - 9 years ago
Jesus is preaching and teaching but very few are believing him, during that time they had him in the flesh. What a sight that must of been and people still denied him. The problem is people dont read there bible enough to know God. Just like in the end times many will be decived because of not reading and knowing scripture (if it were possible even the very elect)
  • Penelope on Hebrews 13 - 9 years ago
We are shown the importance of developing brotherly love now, for it will help us during whatever tests and trials we may face in the future.
  • Jeff Berry on Genesis 2 - 9 years ago
Word: Your statement concerning chapter 1:26 ("God created people around the earth, different races...") is intended to support your belief in evloution. Any time science contridics scripture, science is wrong. 1:26 is referring to the human race, there is only 1 race. The idea of many races is necessary to support evolutionary theory. Trust the Bible until science corrects itself!
  • Mild Bill on Psalms 31 - 9 years ago
The "proud doer" here is saying/expressing,"I am thus because of thee", not, "I am thus because of me". The pride, is a delight in the Lord and his presence(v.20) in the life of a believer. Such as, a person might say, "I am proud to know him",or,"I am proud of my God". There is no sin in this form of the word and it is not the "pride of man'.
