    Adding to disciples comment "neglecting to judge self"; To examine/judge ourselves daily using God's standard, shows prudence; the practice of good judgment and the ability to self-discipline. And, watchful not to live in hypocrisy. Aren't we suppose to remove the log in our own eye, before we try to remove the log in our brother's eye.

    Matthew 13:27 "He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man." Son of man is Jesus. Some versions capitalize "Man"=God. Anyone else agree it should be cap. M just for the sake of clarity? In case anyone was wondering; when it reads "son of man" it is not Christ.

    Lu2677; I very much appreciate the conversation, Thank you! I don't think we're disagreeing; but maybe not on the same page. The thing I think is troubling you; (correct me if I'm wrong); is this idea that anyone could actually be good in the Lord's view, even when he or she is a sinner. Luke 7:45-48 shows what I'm talking about: in that we judge righteous judgment, and not use the Law to destroy.

    YES, A GIFT Amen! That God released Adam and his wife, shows that He loves and forgives those who know not what they do. Jesus didn't come into the world to destroy men's lives, but to save them. If we say we know Him, we ought to know how He still plans on saving the world through Jesus. The gift is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ coming into the world to SAVE US! That's why we're still here!

    There is a common thinking with many, that is simply wrong: not every pronouncement of the worst evil is for a blanket to be automatically thrown indiscriminately on everyone. Yes, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; but not all are desperately wicked and deceitful. Even king Abimelech the Philistine, God saw that he walked in his integrity, and kept him from sinning with Sarah.

    Lu2677; When the Lord stood before Pilate, the Governor asked Him; "You are a king then?" and so Jesus told him, "You say that I am a king: for this cause came I into the world...to bear witness of the truth; all they who are of the truth shall hear my voice." He came to call sinners to repentance: repentance comes out of acknowledgment of the truth and integrity of heart by reflecting that grace.

    Lu2677; Let me use the Greek Textus Receptus: "Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire: then surely by their works you shall know them." ( Mt. 7:19-20) Now from the picture of the Judgment Day given by the Lord in Mt. 25; it is evident that our works shall save us or ruin us: like James said; "Show me your faith without works; and I'll show you my faith by my works."

    The Lord our God is the Lord and Shepherd of His flock. He that has lost his life for the Lord shall reap everlasting life. The sacrifice in this time is a broken heart and contrite spirit that the Lord so desires. A meek and quiet spirit are given to His people. The Lord knows those who are His. We must stay faithful, continue in the first works, and endure unto the end in all obedience.

    There was no change in Paul until God called him, struck him blind temporarily and then revealed to him who He was.Paul believed God and worked diligently in his spiritual walk,the Holy Ghost was upon him.My beloved brother Paul had much to repent of; he persecuted Christians, threw them in jail, beat them and killed them. God inspired Paul to teach sound doctrine. God's mercy endures forever.Amen

Philippians 2:12 Paul said,"Wherefore my beloved as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." There's those words again; obey ,fear and trembling."

    disciple"the brethren in the beginning" KNEW God.Using discernment they KNEW the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. The "vast multitudes" are on the broad way.If someone is "starved to death"it is because God has not given them understanding of the knowledge."If we walk in the light as He is in the light,we have fellowship one with another,through the blood of Jesus Christ.

    I think most are forgetting several scriptures in the Bible, Jesus said you must be born again, of the Spirit and of the water, Peter said to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus, Paul said we must work out our own salvation, and there are many more scriptures confirming this.We as adults can not be saved by what some one else believes.

    He delivered me from a terrible debt. I did not know what to do, but I knew how to pray. So I prayed and He made His word manifest and paid my debt.
    How He sorts my problems is inexplicable.
    There is an issue I have at hand now, and I have committed it unto His mighty hands and am believing that it is already settled.

    V14 got to me that he does forgive us our sins and pities us. Also good chapter for me since i have terminal cancer. The praise elements are strong and help me express my devotion to Him.

    "In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." BUILDED TOGETHER! How do we not know today what unity and grace and knowledge that our brethren in the beginning knew? How do the vast multitudes of gentle believers seem to be starved to death for understanding even of the first basics of knowledge, and find mostly contention and divisions instead of fellowship?

    "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine," We've most often heard this phrase used about speaking to those whom we would judge unfit for our holy words and wisdom from God. But in the context of how the Lord said it; its about our hypocrisy causing scandal to the holy name of Jesus, and the precious treasure of His Gospel that we've been entrusted with.

    Paul did not immediately run out into public ministry the day he was knocked off his high horse. He did not run out looking for a Bible College where he could dump tens of thousands of dollars, for "their" certificate of completion. Paul had the Calling right from the Lord Himself, with a powerful vision and prophecy; so he responded in the only way fitting; he got alone with the Lord and waited!
